mainframex
So I've had this problem off and on, its more annoying than anything. Haven't quite managed to sort it out. Basically what happens, sometimes things will show up fine and dandy. Other times things are just well missing or are low rez. Seems a common problem usually sorted by the ENB but doesn't appear to be the case with me. Maybe its just normal not sure. Hope not its annoying. If anyone has any thoughts on what might be causing it, helps appreciated. As a for record, least I'm not suffering from any FPS problems, stable 60fps constantly, haven't really seen it drop save for a few brief moments where it seemed to catch up fairly efficiently. It does however tend to hang just a bit when entering workshop. Mostly its just missing walls, and now and then textures not coming into clear focus that seems to be the issue. chucksteel
There is a .ini setting that should solve the draw problem but I don't really recommend it because it can create performance issues. What it does is turns off the optimization for the entire game and you may see FPS drops especially downtown. try adding. [Display]bUsePreCulledObjects=0 to your Fallout.ini As for the textures not fully coming into focus, I have the same issue and haven't found a fix. I don't use an ENB just vanilla textures. AGreatWeight
I think the low-rez textures thing is somehow related to Bethesda altering the way the game loads texture/mesh (etc) data. Bethesda changed it, so that now it continuously streams the data. The downside of this way of doing it is that it's vram intensive so you might experience game freezes. I've been noticing this a lot in the last month or so in my own game, since the update prior to the release of Nuka World.I've read conflicting reports about whether this 'update' is the cause of meshes loading slowly (or sometimes incorrectly) so that objects/buildings etc will suddenly appear in game... and haven't been able to find a fix for it so far. It's possible that you have a mod conflict that is causing the invisible wall bug. Do you use LOOT to sort your load order?
mainframex
Yeah used loot, and the walls are there sometimes. Like in concord for example, one time I'll walk through every thing is ok, some other time I'll walk through and a piece of a wall will be missing here or there. Doesn't seem to be the same wall every time or anything so I didn't figure it was a mod problem. Else I assume it'd just be missing every time which would be easier to sort out. Just seems like now and then it just takes its time to Rez in or something along those lines. Like there's lag when playing an MMO, walking around don't see any tree's then you walk into one that just decides to rez infront of you. Those sorts of things. Going to try to lower the view distances, maybe that'll help. I did test the bUsePreCulledObjects=0, far as I could tell all it did was cause my game to go through pauses every time I entered a new cell? I'd step into a new cell, it'd pause then carry on. Thoughts: Possibly simply a case of not enough VRAM, perhaps its simply out doing my 2 gig card after the mods. Original thought was that ENB boost would counter and solve the problem but doesn't appear to be the case, if it is simply a Vram problem I'll know in a day or two when I obtain the updated graphics card. If that solves the problem I'll make sure to post here saying that its solved. Edited October 6, 2016 by mainframex
steve40
Go into the game launcher Options->Advanced->View Distance then change Distant Object Detail from Ultra to High. See if that solves the problem.
mainframex
Tested dropping settings to high and still had the same issue. Going to remove some of the texture mods that I have and see if perhaps its a case of duplicate maps or something maybe causing a conflict. I noticed a strange spot in the previous test that made it appear that it was maybe trying to load two textures over the same spot, sorta kept flipping between them. Could have just been a case of mesh laid on top of one another or various other things. But i figure its worth a shot. Will post results. Update: It appears to have been an issue with the GraFix texture packs. Removing those appears to have sorted the problem. Not to say I'm saying don't use that mod, more a case of don't use those mods along side the other mods I have listed. Seems to be some sort of conflict there, not sure exactly what the conflict was or is, but does appear to be an issue. No less seems the problem has been solved. Thanks for the help.
