Game is fine, but Vault 88 is a complete mess from first entry.

So, my game has been running fine, everything's smooth. I decided to play the Vault Tec DLC, since I hadn't gotten around to it yet, but when I entered the vault...hoo boy. Well, it's hard to explain what happened, but hey! I took a video of it. It's actually kind of cool, but I'd like to actually do the DLC rather than put my character on the weirdest chem trip this side of the Commonwealth.

I've run LOOT to look for bad plugins and I've made sure all my mods are updated to the newest versions, but other than that, I'm not really sure which add on or load order issue would cause this kind of craziness just in this piece of DLC. Anyone have a direction to point me in?

Try unticking the Vault-Tec dlc,and then add it back. It will uninstall it and then reinstall it. If you don't want to go through that, you could try and load an earlier save and see if that fixes it. I do however see a few mods that could be causing it.

Already tried the earlier save before. I tried the uninstall/reinstall, and tried disabling those mods, but no luck. Guess I'll have to do some more experimenting.

Vault 95 in my game suffered from the "acid trip walls" problem long before I got Vault 88, though only on one or two walls. I got the "repaired Vault entrance lights" mod for Vault 88 and ended up with two see through corners near the Security office. When I uninstalled the mod to see if the corners would be restored the Vault went crazy and I had walls going white all over the place !

You are using both Scrap everything's individual esp's and the ultimate edition esp, use one or the other, but you will find it's caused by that mod. Remove the Ultimate edition and the vault tec DLC file, pretty sure it was a known issue of the current version.

You're the absolute best, that was it! I did an uninstall and manual reinstall of Scrap Everything without the Vault Tec esp included, and the Vault is back to normal. I owe you a dozen cookies. :D

So the issue is solved. But for the future:

 

Arrange ALL dlc after the main game esp, then unofficial patch, and then everything else. Nothing should be listed between the dlc-files, because they heavyly depend on each other. Nothing should interfere there. If something changes pieces, it should be done afterwards, or it can mess up your whole game.
