  1. It kind of sucks that we wear the same nasty looking clothes day in and day out. Then we head into Athens and we see nicely dressed people. Yet, we run around in dark rags. Be nice if we could have a set of good looking clothes.
  2. Yeah. I created the XMarker for her by copying the script from anther companion. But, that didn't work. I'm not worried about it now.
  3. So, I have added the companion to New California, but, her scripts seem to have broken. If I talk to her, I get the "Hello..." but then she runs off. If I catch her again, I get the same beginning response. I've gone into the GECK and checked the scripts and they are all still there, so I can't figure out why it's broken in game. Any help would be awesome.
  4. Wow. This is an old topic. I even forgot about it. I just made my own. Well, not as good as the original in my opinion, but, it works.
  5. I have this same issue and I'm not using raider overhaul nor gunner overhaul. So, no idea how to fix it.
  6. Yeah. I actually deleted them all and am redownloading them. But, like I said this morning, it's a fresh install so there shouldn't be any issues.
  7. Sheson heap size is for TTW I thought. I'm using NVSE version 5.1b4 Not the early version of 4.xx. Also, the 4GB Fallout New Vegas vseion that I'm using in this one: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/35262Per NVSE instructions. Anyway, NV works properly IF I disable all the DLCs. Neutral factions aren't hostile. But, without the DLCs, the game is pretty much a bust.
  8. I am using the 4gb patcher. I have Windows 10 Pro 1803 Redstone 4. SCU I think it is.
  9. I also noticed that even with my 32gb and the 11gb on my 1080ti, I was getting an out of memory error. So, yeah. VRAM is an issue. Although the card works great in all other games, including FO3. NV is just a lil whiney b.

  11. Thanks for the help. With YUP installed, my game crashes. I'll load a save and it starts to load and the loading wheel freezes and I get a silent CTD. So, I can't use YUP. I just tried that on a new save. Everything I've tried up to this point: 1. Reinstalled Win10 2. Uninstalled New Vegas/Cleaned external SSD of anything related to NV 3. Reinstalled New Vegas 4. Ran NV from the Steam launcher/No mods/Vanilla only 5. Complete ALL GS quests except for: Ghost Town Gunfight.Run Goodsprings Run. 6. Head out into the Mojave 7. At Jean's Sky Diving: Hostile markers behind building(Powder Gangers) 8. Head to Primm: Hostile marker where the NCR soldier is at 9. Get attacked by neutral(LMAO!) NCR 10. Die All of that on a new install of Win10 and NV. I've exhausted all my own ideas and a few from friends on Discord. No love to be had. I think it's time to just put NV back into the attic and forget about it until I'm 81. I'm 71 now. So, another 10 years. Hopefully I'll still be kickin.
  12. I installed Steam to an external SSD. NV is the only game with issues. Well, I have some issues with State of Decay 2, it continues to break and at times will refuse to reinstall. Maybe this is a Win10 1803 issue. I don't know. FO3 works perfectly after installing Microsoft Games for Windows. I haven't played NV on anything above Windows 8.0 and I never had any issues.
  13. Umm... Not sure you're understanding my issue. Even on vanilla, after resetting the .ini the problem persists. These saves are NEW saves. Not old saves. On my very first load of the game after install is when this first happened. I'm also not a "first timer". I am even a modder and I cannot figure out this issue.
  14. I just started playing NV again after years away from it. I only have a few mods installed: Alternate T-51B NCR T-51B NVAC NVSE Weapon Mesh Improvement Jacobstown Player Bungalow The problem is that all major factions, except Goodsprings are initially hostile. These factions should be neutral until I gain or lose karma. Anyway, I made a mod that makes all major factions neutral, which fixes the initial problem. However, after gaining and even losing karma, they stay neutral. So, I uninstalled my mod, thinking the karma would fix itself, but it does't. The major factions return to being hostile. Not sure how to fix this issue. I uninstalled all mods except for NVAC, because without NVAC I can't play NV, just to see if it was one of those mods, even though they don't touch factions, but even without the mods, the factions are hostile. I've tried this with 2 new saves, the second save was completely vanilla and the issue still persists. If anyone knows how to fix this, please help. Thanks in advance. Edit: I've even tried console commands: player.SetFactionRank 000ee68a 1 SetFactionReaction 000ee68a 1B2A4 1 But, nothing helps
  15. I used Bilgo's FO4 Config Tool to set the setting without opening up console. But it has a setting to set a bat file. In fact, I use Disable Console - No Scripts or Software needed because it's just too easy to cheat with the console active. Besides, if there's a need to cheat, there's a mod that works from your Pip-Boy called Cheat Terminal and one called Cheat Menu Holotape -- Cheat_Engine.exe if that's your thing.
  16. At least someone gets it. Everyone seems to think that all I'm doing is crapping on the new design. If I was, I would've stuck with my original "The new site sucks and needs to be killed with fire." statement that I made before. Well, not word for word, but close enough. I still feel the new design has it's place. I understand that 20% use their phones for the site. But, these are probably the same people who has and live on apps like Facebook, Messenger, Twitter and a melange of other apps. Me, I'm just old school. My phone is purely for communication. Text and voice. I don't have a Facebook, Twitter or even a Pinterest acct. It's not for me. All I've ever been saying is that we(the PC users) need a little consideration and have a PC friendly theme. I don't think it's too much to ask for. The new site dynamics/mechanics are sound. Yes, there are still quite a few bugs, but, slap an old school/old site theme on top would be awesome.
  17. It's not about "sitting at home" on our asses. I work long hours, I rarely take a day off. When I come home, I just want to sit at my computer, find a mod or three or whatever and just veg out. I use my mobile for text and calls. Period. I don't use it for browsing mods. Nor do I have any social apps on my phone. Am I saying that Vortex and mobile is a bad idea? No. I'm just saying that the new design is bad on a 4k monitor. Plus it's very hard to work with. I've also done my own research on all of this and you CAN incorporate another design into the new site without changing the mechanics on the new site. All you need to do is create a fallback theme/design and incorporate it. Adding a theme layout button in the profile area. This way you keep the new site mechanics working with Vortex and the fallback theme design. No need for two different sites as people keep saying.
  18. Yeah. We know that the 20% minority comes before the 80% majority. At least with Nexus. To switch to a system that makes 20% of the people happy is the right marketing strategy? Wrong. In business, or should I say "marketing", it makes more sense to cut your losses with the 20%. Cutting the 80% isn't marketing strategy, it's lunacy. That's like taking the wine, meat, veggies and potatoes off the dinner table and feeding it to the pigs and giving your family a loaf of bread and a glass of dirty water to wash it all down. Anyway, I've said enough in this thread. No matter what the majority says, the minority wins.
  19. On the main site itself? No. Not that I've found and I've played with it, trying to like it. But, if you setup your fav Nexus pages, ie Skyrim, FO3 and so on, just click on the one you want, then click mods and download history.
  20. So, on the 12th, old.nexus.com will be taken down and we will all be forced to use the new layout. Which is a broken, untidy mess. I have tried and tried, repeatedly to like it. But, I can't. Especially on my 4k monitor. It's horrid. Anyway, when it goes down on the 12th, I'll no longer be coming here. Guess it's time to break down and start using Bugthesda's mod site. Thanks again for many long years of a great site. It sucks to say good bye. But, 12th February will be my final so long and farewell.
  21. Who said anything about downloading anything to your phone? Who said anything about Vortex being a phone app? And so what if it was? I hope Vortex is a phone app that allows for us to use the forums in the way that Tapatalk does, only you know, in a less sh*tty way. That would actually be kind of cool. Or maybe one day, Nexus Mods will finally have a Tapatalk page. I think the goal with integration of Vortex and mobile sites, according to what Dark0ne and SirSalami have said, is for people to be able to browse on their mobile, flag mods they are interested in (by way of a Favorites or whatever button), and that will auto-queue them in Vortex so that when you get back to your PC, the mods are either already downloaded to Vortex, or they are queued and waiting for you to say Download Vortex. I believe that is the kind of vision the admins have for the site, and Dark0ne has already said that mobile traffic accounts for almost 20% of the site traffic. So why not take advantage of that by offering something along the lines of the above? I think it would be kind of cool to be able to save mods when browsing on mobile for later downloading on PC. It would encourage me to browse the site more, actually. I never once said that it WAS a phone app. But, anyway, I tried and I tried to get used to it. Been using it for several days now and all I get from it is a headache on my 4k monitor. The site is not for pc usage in my opinion. As Dark0ne has said: "mobile traffic accounts for almost 20% of the site traffic." so, how does that justify alienating the larger percentage? Even if out of the 80% the ones that are unhappy with it for one reason or the other, is only 35% of that 80%? That's still a larger percentage than the 20% phone usage. It makes no sense at all to me. Anyway, I've said my last in this post. It's no longer worth debating it. As I've said in other replies of mine: "It's Dark0ne's site. He can do as he wants with it." That includes shutting it down or turning it into a personal family blog. But, at this point, it's no longer worth debating it.
  22. I've been trying to get used to the new site design, but, I just can't. It's not possible. Not on my pc. It now causes me to have headaches and that isn't cool. But, on the bright side, it looks great on my phone, but, as others have pointed out, I do not download mods on phone. If the Vortex mod manager is a phone app, that would mean making sure your phone is linked to your pc at all times. Which in my opinion isn't beneficial in anyway. I don't want to have to use my phone to install mods. This design just isn't made for pc. To make it usable with a phone is just wrong.
  23. You must first appreciate the beauty and fragrance of the rose. I do not appreciate the beauty of this rose and the fragrance has also changed. So, I will leave this here. I bid you adieu. If you enjoy the fragrance of a rose, you must accept the thorns which it bears. ~Isaac Hayes
  24. I think you're getting confused. The reference to an external rating was for the font readability. Nothing more. The site is made with desktop and mobile in mind, not one or the other. That's the responsive nature of the site, where when you reduce the browser width it changes accordingly. When viewing at a width of 1200px or more, it's made for desktop and only desktop. When viewing below 1200px it's made to work better for tablets and mobile. That's modern web dev, and it's the cheapest and most efficient method moving forward for small development teams to be able to accommodate as many users on their various mediums and browsers as possible. We'll certainly be reviewing how the site looks and functions based on the constructive feedback provided over the coming weeks and months, which is what we've been saying we'll do through this entire process. Frankly, the people saying we aren't listening or won't listen to feedback, and won't make changes where valid concerns are raised can really bite me. Some of the responses here and in other threads have been truly pathetic and I won't pander to the silliness being shown. If that makes it look like I'm "not listening" then I'll get over it and let the actions we take over the next few months do the speaking. Why waste my time? This was already answered in one of the news posts, so once again, this isn't a "they're not listening/they're ignoring us" issue. That's actually a "people aren't reading the news posts" issue! It's not possible for two reasons. One, it would require double development time on our end when we change any functionality or add new functionality in the future, which just isn't feasible to do. And two, it would require mod authors to maintain two separate versions of their mod pages that work for the different site designs. Obviously that's not feasible either. Well, I missed this. Not feasible? Not possible? Understood, Dark0ne. But, I fail to understand HOW it's not feasible and not possible. But, As I said, this is your site. I have been around for many years and I will miss the Nexus. Thank you for a great many years of pleasure. I will take my leave now.
  25. Ok. People seem to get upset at others over how they express their opinion on the new site. So, I will clarify why I do not like the new design. 1. The tiles are not nice when it comes to a 4k 32-inch display set at 3480 x 2160 resolution. The tiles are blurred. The fonts are fuzzy. 2. It is very hard to navigate a design when things aren't clear and crisp. 3. The new design seems to be more for portable devices than a pc. In general, I don't have a problem with what Dark0ne wants. It's his site and can turn it into whatever he prefers. I think it would be beneficial if the old layout was kept as a choice. Forcing the new design onto people who have issues with it, isn't beneficial. As anyone can see just by reading this entire thread, there's a huge division happening among members. We have the Yays and the Nays. The percentage of the division seems to be an equal split. With a small percent who has no opinion either way. Again, this is just my thoughts on the matter. I just feel this should be a choice. Every thing these days seems to me, that choice has become overrated. Microsoft, Apple and even some Linux Distros are now forcing their decisions down everyone's throats. Choice has become a thing of the past. But, if the old site isn't given as a choice, then, I only have one choice and that's to permanently leave. I'm sticking around for now, just to see where this all goes.
