Skyrim Keeps Crashing During Gameplay

Recommended Posts

Hello Nexus, I'm having a problem with Skyrim. It keeps crashing during gameplay. I play for 10-20 minutes and it goes CTD without a notice.

I'm also having an issue with SKSE keeps showing up in my overwrite folder, so if anyone has any insight into that. It would be much appreciated.

I have roughly 200 mods installed.

Here's my load order.

I've tried running LOOT, it says its fine. I've cleaned every file, there's just one mod with 1 ITM record but I doubt that's causing anything. FNIS isn't reporting anything. Is there some compatibility stuff I'm missing. Just in case this helps here's my specs.
CPU: AMD A8-6410 APU with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics
GPU: AMD Radeon R5 Graphics
RAM: 6.0 GB
OS: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (build 9600), 64-bit
CPU Speed: 2.0 GHz
PS: I do have "dD - Realistic Ragdoll Force - Realistic.esp", "SOSRaceMenu.esp", and "XPMSE.esp". As well as the High Resolution Texture Pack off.
Thanks in advance.

OK, as you're using Mod Manager, you don't have to worry about SKSE popping up in overwrite.

Secondly, with that many mods, good lord, make sure you're using loot to order them.

Secondly, be aware that loot does not order the actual install order of them, it just orders the .esp and .esm.

What that means, is that you actually need to go through and make sure that the correct mods are overwriting the mod installed before it.

Also...hrm...check for bug fixes and the like. I try not to do any .ini tweaking since I play on a laptop. grin, I play all of my games on low texture. I like my fps.

I am using Mod Organizer, not Mod Manager. Thank you for the advice. I just need to know. How would I go in and make sure all of them are overwriting the correct mods.

duh, I don't know why I called it mod manager. LOL OK, when you look at the left pane, you'll see a lightning bolt with either a green plus, a red minus, or both. Right click on the mod name and click on the information field. That opens up an information window. Then go to the "Conflicts" menu right next to category.

That will tell you the name of the mods that are overwriting the mod in question, and the mods that the mod in question is overwriting.

That is one way to see which mods are being overwritten.

Do I have to combine the mods that are overwriting or conflicting? Or do I have to just deactivate one of the conflicting mods and make a choice there?

When it comes to overwriting/underwriting mods, I look at it like this:

Which mod do I like better?

I keep few graphics mods. Well, texture ones. I have very few weapon/armor mods mainly because I prefer aMidianBorn's and Hothtroopers when it comes to both.

It also depends upon what is being overwritten.

RIght now, I have only 75 mods running for my game and I still crash every now and then.

when some mods are overwriting others open the mod and check the actual conflicts see if you like a texture better then the other same for meshes try to mimic your load order as much as possible if there are script conflicts you will need to check the mod pages or follow the load order more strictly you don't only need to check for conflicts on the plugins as well download TES5Edit and learn how to use it. Download NifSkope to see the .nif files: http://niftools.sourceforge.net/wiki/NifSkope and a simple .dds viewer like this one: http://ddsviewer.com/ (even Nvidia has it's own simple dds viewer that can be downloaded from the website) to see the .dds textures.

Are you using Crash Fixes and ENBoost?
