boomnuke35
It seems all new actions in Skyrim were linked to a piece of jewelry whether it made since or not. Getting married, becoming a werewolf, eatting corpses.......It seems like a cop out. Like they desperatly wanted to make a linear game. They feared we wouldn't play it right or something. I would go left but there is a mountain there. I'd go right but there are more mountains..........I guess I'll go forward. Best RPG ever, maybe, but I fear for the future. I think getting rid of the need for jewelry is always a good idea. Wow I just realized that is so true!
TheElderInfinity
I definitely support this idea, the current werewolves are lame. I'd also be down with giving the werewolves a sleeker and wolfier appearance; I always thought of werewolves as sneaky hunters (like actual wolves are) rather than "RAWR HULK SMASH" things. dianacat777
...Not really sure how that's relevant, but you do have a point, Tonic. Redoing werewolf appearance...? Hm. I was more fond of Bloodmoon's werewolves than this, stylistically, but I think that's something for somebody else to do - since I'm sure there are other people who will re-mesh werewolves. There are two things about Skyrim's werewolf model that bug me, though; the muzzle in general (I wish it were longer, but also how wide the snarl is - it doesn't look right, and from a head-on position, the werewolf's mouth looks ridiculous) and the tail seems limp and thin, and poorly connected to the werewolf's body. TheElderInfinity
Honestly, with the werewolf thing, I'm hoping to get some sort of major questline. While COH was awesome to the extreme, it was a little bit...Anticlimactic...There was this huge buildup to a metaplot of sorts in the mod description, but no sort of storyline as far as I know, and the only extension mod that existed was rather lacking. This mod should ideally be a .esm to allow for easy recursive modding, and have an (optional) story line of sorts. I'd be up for providing some voice overs/writing if people would be in on it. Edit: I'd also be good for doing some level/gameplay conceptual design. I'm no good at actually laying things out in the construction set (or creation kit in this case, assuming it works like CS), but I consider myself fairly creative, and rather good with abstract and unrefined concepts. Wraithofdoom
ok, after reading all the posts this is what i got to say: 1- I love the idea, i specially want the uncontrolable werewolf transformations part, i actually posted it as my dream mod in a dream mod thread somewhere in this forums. 2- Shouts as a werewolf ? my personal opinion: doesnt facilitate role playing. 3 - Werewolf definetly need a sneak animation, and i agree on it being on all fours, low on the ground. 4 - Wandering werewolfs should in my opinion be found only in forests (werewolfs in the tundra ? come on ). EDIT: I mean i know of the companions but werewolfs and forests have a mystic kind of thing, it wouldnt feel right to stumble upon one on the open plains, ruins the inmersion for me. 5 - Wild tribes would be great and a new storyline & faction even better. 6 - Maybe different howls should sound different, like perhaps you could actually howl, instead of only roaring. dianacat777
Really? Glad to see other people feel the same as I do about this :D Shouts, yeah, I'm kinda ~ on that anyway. I'd imagine you could find werewolves hunting anywhere, but they'd be pretty rare regardless. (I might add more spawn points than usual around Morthal and Falkreath's swamps and forests, though, for that idea.) And I can see them in the tundra. They've got natural fur coats :3 I mean, they liked Solstheim, didn't they? Tribes - yeah, that'd be fun. And the howling? Totally agree. I wonder if LogicDragon would let me/us/whoever use some of the howling sound files from CoH: Resurrected, because there were a few good howls there. I loved Morrowind's howl, but I think using that is copyright.
TheElderInfinity
I support this mod 100%. I'm not that good at CS as I said before (or modeling/texturing), but I'd be willing to lend a hand with conceptual level design, voice acting, quest design, ect... dianacat777
Ooh, sweet! Voice actors always make things so much more polished. I believe my laptop has a mic, but I have no idea how to use it. :/ If I did, I'd offer myself as a voice actor too.
TheElderInfinity
We'd need someone good with sound editing definitely, because laptop recordings aren't all that good normally, even with a good headset. I'd definitely be good for werewolf voicing, though I'm not sure what accents we might need.
dianacat777
*shrug* It is a nice laptop, though. Also, pmed you on the quests. I won't post those here for spoiler's sake, but to anyone who's thinking about joining this team, we are working on cohesive questlines, both for hunters and werewolves. (For everyone that joins the hunters, though, shame on you.) It'd be nice if there was a chatroom somewhere, so we could talk in real time.
