Tair
.esp files would be in the base of your Data folder. They do a number of things; some of them make hex edits to Skyrim's base files. Regardless, no existing .esp file was created with tools designed specifically for Skyrim. They all carry risk of corrupting your save files and causing CTDs. Don't trash your entire save folder, though. Usually, if you actually do have corrupted saves, backtracking several save files will fix the problem if the .esp files are removed. bloodflyer
So once they creation kit comes out for skyrim will that most likely get rid of these problems for uncorrupted saves?
zheng
maybe. there was an unofficial oblivion patch from some guys that fixed over 2000 bugs (mod descriptipn) for oblivion.
bloodflyer
hmm. i'm gonna start a new game with no mods then and see how long it takes to crash. i'll let you know what i find out as soon as i play it for a couple hours. cuz i never had any issues until i started installing mods. i thought it might have just been the number of mods i was using. i was seriously using about 50 mods at once, most of them texture but a few of them doing other things also. maboru
I'm running over 30 texture mods and some HUD mods, all espless, and I haven't run into any problems (besides memory leaks.) The modders writing esp mods are admirably filling a void with creative solutions but they're also pushing the envelope pretty far with no CK or TESVEdit to properly vet their mods. Once the CK is released next month things should clean up nicely so just go easy in the meantime.
