dhaedra
Thanks to Ferus for the suggestion, I have that mod installed already, It is an improvement in that I can zoom in all the way to 1st person while mounted, but it still won't allow me to pan while moving whether I am walking or mounted. But I do appreciate your taking the time to recommend a mod to me. Thanks.

Draiden
Bump - would love to see Oblivion style camera controls emulated through a mod, especially with regard to being able to rotate the camera in front of the PC AND move (so that you're running "towards" the screen). littleatlas
Yes you can. Open a console and write animcam. Edited January 14, 2012 by littleatlas
PR4Y
Yes you can. Open a console and write animcam. That works... SORT of. I have a few MAJOR problems with "animcam" though: 1. Defaults to Inverted... cannot be changed. Terrible.2. Doesn't let you move the camera vertically...3. Isn't a simple thing like holding a key while moving mouse, so it's a pain to use to begin with. animcam simply isn't a replacement for this obviously neglected game feature. I swear, the console has actually destroyed some aspects of this game.
sarnz
Can you use the autorun feature and then hold F to zoom around?
TheMysteriousTraveler
Shame on you. Tsk tsk. Bethesda apparently doesn't like vanity... Seriously though, I really miss that feature. Was very annoyed to see it missing in Skyrim. Was great for enjoying the scenery, handy for spotting enemies and perfect for checking yourself out  MysteriousTraveler agrees. me just prefer to call the checking youself out part: "thinking how to improve your virtual self". Dranorak
This might be slightly off topic, in that it isn't a 'fix' aimed at fixing the camera controls while playing, but the possibilities shown in the following video show that there are ways to evade the forced camera perspective in Skyrim (either 1st person, 3rd person or free fly cam perspective). I think Skyrim video makers in general could benefit from this more advanced character control, and I think I'm on the brink of finding out a way to do that. Check out this proof of concept that shows that it's possible (with limitations, as for now) to film and control your character without being either in 1st or 3rd person. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dAocTmnfmkk&hd=1 It could create great possibilities for filming projects. Hope this interests you.
Wraith Darkholm
Actually, for the PC, I found that holding down "F" (default) and moving the mouse will allow a vanity cam. At least, that works for me. Once you release "F", the camera will go into 3rd person. Hit it again to return to 1st person. Edit: I missed where you stated "while moving." Disregard. I would also like to see this. Edited January 18, 2012 by Wraith Darkholm
