@ RobCoPublicReassurance : And there i suck XD. Would be for sure helpfull if somebody could help me type down some books (that will be for sure needed to describe how the hell those machines work). And yep.. im more then sure that this mod will be made, because i already got a lot of stuff together. Many things will add for sure, but technically only the ck, some time with scripting and the armors and robes (that are already in work) are missing to finish the first part of this mod that will introduce the first full sets.

So how exactly are these armors and technology going to be introduced into the game? Are we doing a quest line in order to reintroduce this stuff or is just going to be there? I would much prefer the former, because (at least for me) context makes all of this stuff that much cooler. That said, it takes work to make an engaging quest line, such as making characters that aren't so one-dimensional as well as adding the content progressively rather than all at once.

@Basaltface I'd be more than happy to write the characters, dialogue, and whatever else is needed story-wise if you would be interested in going about it this way. I'd love to hear specifically what you are thinking about adding and your ideas for the backstory behind it all.

Few ideas: steam based rifle/cannon traps, "uber" near unkillable Dwemer Centurions in the new dungeon, meaning only the strongest can live through, or with a heap of followers, and maybe even a still living branche of Dwemer in the endpart of the Dungeon, wielding insanely powerful Dwemer Magic (Acid Cloud and such come to mind).

Few remarks: Dwemer were extremely intelligent.

Weapons like the War Saw would probably never been made, since these are not really handy to wield them.

I'd rather see remakes of the current weapons, maybe new but actually GOOD wieldable weapons.

Strange idea, but they could have Nunchaku, for one.

They HAVE the pipes and chains for it, and they know a brass pipe on the head can hurt plenty.

They can put 1 and 1 together just like you and I can, and voila, Nunchaku!!!

If you make such a mod, then do be aware that things have to be logical, usable, and lore friendly.

Invent things like pipe based weapons (think of the steam rifle, a trap using steam to propel a ball of metal with very high velocity at a target, or the cannon variant).

This can even be a self-rearming system with a simple loader on top the rifle/cannon holding a heap of ammo, the steam coming from a still working machine that, say, geothermal is powered.

This dungeon can have a lot of improved traps and weapons, armors, just keep them a bit serious....

My 2 cents.

EDIT: The remaining Dwemer should not be like "Spiderdude from Hell" aka "Experiment going wrong", but the humanoid counterpart that wore the Dwemer Armor.

Spiderdude looked like a part from a silly horrorflik that accidentally took a wrong turn ending in MTES.

If you're honest, that thing should never gotten out the whole it crawled out of....

Eeeeehhhhh...

Other "Elves"???

As far as I know, the Dwemer were DWARVES, not Elves.

Few simple proofs: Check the Item Code Lists, many Dwemer things are called Dwarven[item].

If you speak Lore, then pls make sure you got it right, too?

Also, they were visionaires, smarter than the average Mer, a LOT smarter in fact.

And it has nothing to do with Kagrenac, the race itself was simply tech-superior, using even geothermal knowledge.

This probably originated from their Dwarven strongholds, deep within (volcanic???) mountains.

The fact that they might have reached a volcanic channel in a mountain, harvesting this heat and use it to power their steam machines, could explain their sudden fascination with tech.

Just saying.

Dwemer means Deep Elves. The perfix Mer refers to being descended of the elves. They are called dwarves because Giants thought they were small... but everything is small to giants. They were no shorter than humans, or else we'd have a hard time fitting in their armor. I agree though, the spider dude looks weird, but he has corpus, remember?

The Dwemer were first era elves, having a storied past with the Chimer-now the dunmer- the falmer, or snow elves, and the ancient nords. Eventually, the Chimer formed a truce with the dwemer against the nords, but religious divisions later changed that...

Okay, truce may be a bit broad. Chimer armies couldn't stand up to powerful Dwemer centurions and heavy armor. Have you read the Ancient Tales of the Dwemer, especially volume four, the Chimarvamidium?

The Dwemer really didn't get on the aedra and deadra's good side. Being very skeptical of the the 'dra's godhood, they got into quite a bit of trouble with them, Azura especially. Indeed, the Dwemer felt that they could achieve godhood, considering they used the heart of Lorkhan, the divine who tricked (or convinced) the Aedra into creating the world. Out of anger, the Aedra ripped out his heart, and his remains became the two moons.

I have more, if you so care.

Oh, and by the way, the Dwemer are the reason the Falmer are how they are now-sniveling, blind, ravenous, surface hating creatures.

Edit:Oh, and before someone asks, Orcs are Orsimer, Dark elves are Dunmer, and previously the Chimer, or changed elves, High elves are Altmer, Wood elves are Bosmer, etc...

Dwemer

Mer means Elf. Dwemer means Deep Elf. They were called Dwarf because GIANTS told others about them. They were the same height as any other Elf.

If you speak Lore, then pls make sure you got it right, too?

Perhaps you should get your fact straight here?

Sadly, here in little Belgium, there's no bookstore that has the Morrowind literature.

What I stated came from sites as Wiki, and if they are lying, then so am I.

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Dwemer

Does not mean, that when you are correct, you are correct, and I need to apologise!

I hereby apologise.

Then: About the armor: this is a silly remark, really, about "we fit into that, so they were our size".

Both my Khaj as well as my Argo can wear ALL armor AND helmets.

You try putting on a full helmet, when you have a lizard head?

Or a mask?

The Khajiit are "Toe-Walkers", they can however wear boots?

(PS: Ingame speaking.)

On top, I think Mer rather meant People than Elf.

Or are the Breton also Elves?

I have more' date=' if you so care.[/quote']

Yes please, sadly, as mentioned above, I can only resort to online data.

More in-dept info would be VERY welcome, this universe really interests me...

ESPECIALLY the Dwemer.

PS: Over time of Morrowind and it's addons (Tribunal/Bloodmoon), no site spoke of the Dwemer as anything else than Dwarves.

Many back then even depicted them as "LotR" Dwarves.

Mainly my info came from back then about the Dwemer.

And thusfar, no site for what I know speak of them as Elves?

ADDENDUM: My point was: one can make new weapons etc. which are Dwemer, but please let these be somewhat lore-correct.

No man ever wielded a hammer that weighed 500 pounds, or a steam tank on his back to power a steam-based rifle...

half-elves actually (bretons aka manmer. it haz Man and Mer in itz). thats why they are more capable in magic than other human races.

but back to topic, that dwemer claw contraption looks amazing and im hoping to see that and other dwemerish items in game!

especially id like to see crossbows. im not really that much into guns or that sort of stuff... but flamethrower would be nice. we already have fire spewing traps so i dont see flamethrowers that much lore-breaker
