SnowElf
I totally agree that having a playable dwemer would be a lore killer. However, will there be a point in the quest line in during which we will be able to encounter members of the dwemer race?
Basaltface
i got some idea in mind that involves undead dwemers..skeletal ones, some ghostly ones and ill take a look into the lore to see how long they are gone..if not too long.. then also "draugh-mer". Gonna SPOIL YA: There will be for sure a quest line that kinda extends the Peryite quest. I am a great fan of that deadra prince with his diseases and acids. So i think there should be a quest line that brings ya down into the darkness of disease and decay. Fight dwemer undeads that got "blessed" by Peryite, explore the art of destructive alchemy and invent armors and weapons that make you to a walking disease and poison juggernaut.Well protected with poison resistant armors and "gas mask" you can fog your foes in lethal gas, aim your staff at your enemie and shoot a load of acid at the the poor bastard or swing your lethal acid covered scythe or your poison gas emitting mace and melt your foes armor and faces away while your centurions blow out their poison smog and poison darts. Alchemy is underrated.. lets make it to an actual weapon and not only that poison stuff that only works for one hit *smirks*Basically a wonderland for the wicked.. and probably also the first mod ill release. AntaresCommander
Ahem, from my knowledge, almost all dwemer disappeared because they were fiddling with the very heart of LORKHAN himself... you know, the Aedra who's rotting-and-regenerating corpse is now the two moons-Masser and Secunda-you see in the sky? Anyways, the Dwemer Engineer/High priest Kargrenac Made three tools to manipulate the heart-keening, sunder, and wraithguard-and was trying to reach divinity with it when the Chimer came. Chimer were what the Dunmer once were, before they were cursed by Azura. As for what happened when they came, accounts differ as to whether the Chimer forced them to use the heart, or they used if of their own accord. Considering the power of their centurions around this time, along-side some really basic military tactics and info, I'd assume it must have been a pretty good surprise attack, or else the Dwemer were already in decline. Either way, once they messed with the Heart using the 3 artifacts and the ritual, all Dewmer on Nirn, the Mortal plane, disappeared. This all happened first era. Skyrim occurs in the fourth era, and is at least 200 years after Oblivion, which happened in the third era. Dagoth Ur and the Tribunal survived by using the heart to attain basic god-hood, and thus survived so long. The one dwemer who is still around and using a spider base for legs was on another plane of existance when the whole disappearance happened, and has survived because of corpus, where one does not die of age in exchange for being a living, rotting corpse. Master0Necromancer
@ Basaltface: Np. :) I like the way you think, can't wait to see more stuff. :) @AntaresCommander: Yes but don't forget those dwemer that migraed to hammerfell and had nothing to do with the Chimer after the supposed peace treaty. And a fair number of dwemer where in the psyjic order. ;) Edited December 24, 2011 by Master0Necromancer

What do you think? http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/8408/thunderdynamo.th.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us He's going to be a dedicated ranged beastie, think artillery and you've got the picture. Lachdonin
@Basaltface: Why should it be a lore break? :) The dwemer did make prostate limbs to upgrade themselves or replace lost ones. :D As for why and how the disappeared, almost all the ones in Morrowind where slaughtered by Nerevar and those in Hammerfell are a mistery cause Bethesda didn't write the lore that far. :) Yeaaaahhhh... This is factually wrong. We know what happened to the Dwemer. All of them. And while some did die at the Battle of Red Mountain, but the Chimer most certianly didn't kill them all. Nerevar interupting Kagrenac's attempt to tap into the Heart of Lorkhan is the reason their gone. All of them, everywhere. Whether they were utterly destroyed, or sent to some plane beyond Oblivion (Which we know to exist, both from Yagrum and The Infernal City) we don't know, but we do know what caused them to leave. Furthermore, Bethesda managed to write in the Warp in the West, allowing for every possible outcome of Daggerfall to become lore, they most certianly couldd figure out what to do with the Dwemer in Hammerfell. On to topic, however. The general Dwemer defisn has a combination of Persian, Greek, Egyptian and Mesopotamian artistic vibe, with more than a little steam-punk thrown in. There is also a focus on sharp, angular features rather than smooth surfaces. I will be following this topic quite closely, and with noted intrest. Particularly if your get adventurous and try to make everyones favorite last living Dwarf, whose model i could greatly use for my own pet project :P
Basaltface
@ huntsman2310: Its not diffcult to see that this centurio for sure holds a powerfull ranged attack, yet you kept his overall design like the one in the game, i really like the way you think :) and i will for sure download this project of yours as soon you decide to release it. I only got a small question.. Do you plan to make that nasty centurio able to shoot 2 different attacks?..Cause the right arm really looks suspicious..almost like a "rifle" if this term is allowed, it somehow makes me think of a weapon that shoots big bolts or other projectiles, while the left arm got that"zappy gun" apperance that gives me the idea for either a beam or a "charge up - zap - boom" attack that uses a soul gem as "focus point\lens" Thats only a question of interrest and no criticism at all. @Lachdonin: If you seek for a corpus dwarf on a centurio spider "wheelchair" then you have good chances to find it in the questline "Peryite´s Blessing".. cause i plan to play arround with a lot of diseases there..aswell with some remnant dwemers (more pus´n boils and machine then dwemer) that will try to ruin your day ;) @ Master0Necromancer: Thanks for your kind words :). I guess i should have some pics done by tomorrow that show the "Contaminator mask" and the "Contaminator armor"..ill post them as soon im pleased with the texture Edited December 24, 2011 by Basaltface
huntsman2310
Actually I was thinking of making that tip part glow a pale blue, yeah I was thinking of giving the Dynamo two different attacks. The left arm (the pointy one) a would be kind of high damage slow reload sniper sort of deal that shoots a single super charged lightning bolt. The right arm would saturate the area with a spray of electricity, it'd be a sort of close to medium range weapon. I'm also in the process of modifying the Centurion Sphere mesh to make a fast and agile melee fighter that gets around on skates. here's him as WIP. http://img844.imageshack.us/img844/6391/dwemerslider.th.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us Edited December 24, 2011 by huntsman2310
OrphenFire
On to topic, however. There is also a focus on sharp, angular features rather than smooth surfaces. I just want to point out that the Dwemer are actually more akin to the Sumerians or Babylonians (which would fall under Mesopotamian, yes). I find little resemblance of Persian, Greek or Egyptian artistic vibe. Just a little input. Not trying to be a jerk or anything :P
Basaltface
i work here on a centurio that uses a humaniod skeleton and got a body shape close to a human.. except the head (that i took from the sphere) and a contraption on the back that holds already a black soul gem in a gyroscope to make it clear what is needed to produce them XD. Im going to use that model as a "multipurpose centurio" that can be either summoned or constructed in big masses and even able to equip special prepared armors and every weapon (also dual of course) and shield of the players choice. So the player can decide how his\her centurio troops act or what crest they bare on the shield. For now i play arround with the common npc animation..but im quite sure that i will make own animations that will give them a more robotic way to move..like a millitary march with angled arms like the steam centurio. The other project i got atm is the "thug centurio". Basically a Steam centurio with blades on his "neck" and 2 big mace heads as hands. For now he got the troll animation.. that sadly got a terrible lag on the ellbows and knees..but im working on that lol. If it is done.. then this guys will act like a big daddy in bioshock..they will go nuts and blow out a load of steam to show their bad mood if they see a foe and storm to it only to punch it arround like at a fus do rah..well.. not that extreme, but i guess you get the idea XD. I got a similar idea like you.. with the skates i mean. That fire atronarch is pretty much awesome.. and a centurio that can move like them would be a cool addition to the "army" i will provide. "Raider Centurio" would be already a good name..but thats all i got in mind for that one for now lol. Already done is the "core centurio". A "mage" centurio that will summon masses of spider centurios. Shrouded by a black rag (and hopefully a hood in the future)he will float slowly arround and avoid melee at any cost cause he will be pretty weak and besides the blade that forms his right hand he wont be really able to attack in melee. And the "stealth spider" that is basically a centurio spider that uses the mud crab animation (what works perfectly for some odd reason), it digs itself into the floor and waits for its victim to strike it down with the two daggers on its front legs. I will add a few camo effects on that one.. maybe some "loveless smeared" black paint that revals too much of the original colour and pattern of its chassis. And because the gyroscope kinda lost its purpose (it dont spins anymore) i probably add a skull into the "hole" and add a soul gem on the chassis back. Im not sure yet.. but that got time i guess :) Your dynamo centurio really sounds interresting, i really want to see that guys in action cause they sound like a really hard adversary. Specially that "sniper" attack could make some serios holes :) Edited December 24, 2011 by Basaltface
