BeingShotAt
Hello, I'm new here and all but I thought I'd create a list of mods I like and review any one's worth nothing that I've tried, in case anyone has similar tastes or just wants to get a feel of how good or not good a mod is. Recommended Mods Blood is Everything This is a really cool mod for people who like being vampires, does a lot of neat things and is one more of the more interesting concepts I've seen gameplay wise for vampirism, however it has two major flaws, one is that you cannot cure vampirism with this...ever, if you didn't want to become a vampire, you can't cure it at the temple, so you're out of luck and have to disable to mod to remove the vampirism. Also while the being unable to travel in the sun is very realistic, it's highly inconvenient, while this inconvenience can be tolerated with your by yourself, I felt it was a major nuisance when I had companions, and while most companions I wouldn't particularly care if I forced them to get up and follow me around at night anyway(they're npc's they don't really need to sleep) Vilja on the other hand feels so real it makes me feel bad if I have to do anything to make her unhappy. Other then this, it's a great mod 8/10 Lost Spires This mod, is f***ing amazing, simply amazing, there are no real words to describe what a good job this mod is, the voice acting is good and accents interesting, the story is very nice, the models and textures look great, the quests are fun, simple amazing, if you want a really stellar and well made mod for you to experience, this mod is for you, no question at all. 10/10 Frostmourne and Lich King ArmorThis mod adds Frostmourne and Lich King armor from Wc3/WoW WoTLK, Frostmourne is really cool, so is the Lich King, sword is a bit overpowered, but beyond that, textures look pretty good, and...well it's Frostmourne for christ's sake, which is freaking awesome 'nuff said. One of the main things I love about this mod however, is it does something that does away with something that's always annoyed me about enchanted weapons...the number of uses, the blade renews it's condition and enchantment every time you sheathe it, it might be overpowered as hell, but it makes more sense to me, enchantments should be capable of renewing themselves, or at least they should be able to on legendary weapons like Frostmourne at the very least(all these reasons are why I love Dawnfang/Duskfang so much). 10/10 For some, they may feel this is unfair due to how overpowered the blade is, but for me that's not an issue as I just turn the difficulty up Knight of Skeleton Armor This mod, is really cool, adds an AMAZINGLY well done set of armor to the game, with great looking textures, the only downside to this mod is the armor is insanely overpowered, even with max difficulty on, I could breeze through most fights with this armor, which has a large number of very powerful enchantments, don't use if you dislike anything that imbalances the game, maybe there are mods to up the difficulty of the game, if there are then use them in conjunction with this. 8/10, points subtracted simply because this armor really does make the game too easy, other then that it's greatQarl's TP3I love this mod, it takes all the textures of the game, then turns the graphics up to 11 by making them very high definition, not for lower end computers as you will experience a severe drop in FPS, but if you have the kind of computer that can run anything like Crysis 2 on max graphics with ease, and you like good graphics, this mod is for you 8/10 points subtracted for the fact that this mod can't really be used by anyone with a lower end computer Underdark & Underdark SagaIf you're a fan of Baldur's Gate, as well as The Legend of Drizzt series...then you'll love this mod, it's really cool, it's only real downside is that some of the monsters don't attack properly...and a large number of them can knock you over a LOT which is really annoying, that and the enemies often have more HP then feels realistic and somewhat breaks immersion. Other then that, this mod is really neat, and as I said, if you like either of the two things mentioned above, you'll really like this mod, Viconia is pretty neat as well, despite the fact I can't tell whether or not she's leveling up. 8/10 HUD Status BarsThis is a really nice mod, letting you choose from a Diablo II like HUD, or a Skyrim HUD, or vanilla Not much more to tell, looks great, not buggy, all the details are in place 10/10 Lost Paladin of the Divines Great looking armor, makes you go out and quest for the armor instead of just handing it to you, and it gives you a race with a beard...beards are cool, girls like beards, and it makes you look manly, 'nuff said. 10/10 Cobl Cobl is great, needed for tons of mods and it does lots of really nice and cool things for your game experience, and it lets you play as a XivilaiWhich is really cool 10/10 Ringwraith Armor & Witchking Helmet and Sword These mods let you have Ringwraith armor and the witchking's pimpin helmet and sword from LotR(movies) 'Nuff said, this mod speaks for itself 10/10 Dark Brotherhood Chronicles Almost anyone who's played Oblivion and liked it has at some point, played as the Dark Brotherhood, and if you loved the Dark Brotherhood and being an assassin in general, you were likely disappointed like I was by how the quest line ended, the Night Mother goes on about what an amazing assassin you are blah blah blah...but if you're so amazing, why is the Dark Brotherhood a shadow of it's former self? This mod solves that problem, by taking up the quest line where the vanilla left off, allowing you to rebuild the Dark Brotherhood...stronger then it was before you started, and do all of it as the Listener of Sithis. Freaking awesome. 10/10 Alive Waters This mod is great, makes the water outside much less boring, great if you're an Argonian or you have waterbreathing. Though personally I felt this could have done much more then it did 6/10 Real LavaOh man I was beside myself when I saw this, replaces the red soup Bethesda lazily gave to us when they released Oblivion, with realistic high textured lava, making the Plane of Oblivion look a lot better 10/10 Companion Friendly InnsThis mod is really nice, but I feel the author was lazy when he didn't do anything for Shivering Isles and didn't add beds to all inns6/10 Companion ViljaThis is probably the mod I love the most, despite one or two quirks(example being Vilja has no comment to say on the plane of Oblivion or the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary...when you'd think she'd be terrified by both), this is one of the greatest mods I've ever seen, with fantastic writing by Terry Pratchett(Yes dude, we know this BeingShotAt, get on with it) and some great voice acting, with a delightful swedish accent. She feels like a real, living breathing person, can level up with you, has excellent coding and more, this is a FANTASTIC mod 10/10 SkipTutorialv3 This mod places a button inside your cell at the beginning of the game that allows you to skip the tutorial...if you're anything like me, you DESPISE being forced to endure a tutorial again after having done so before in the past, this mod solves that problem and allows you to spend less time goofing around in the Imperial Sewers after witnessing the Emperor's death, and more time playing. 10/10 Sounds of Cyrodill Turns every area into a location that is much more interesting to be, I often found myself a little jittery at some of the noises played in locations haunted by undead(like the mansion in Anvil) or the sounds in daedric dungeons, but many of the sounds make places feel much more alive and interesting. This is a great mod for people who like immersion. 10/10 Reneer's Guard Overhaul Now if there's anything that breaks immersion, it's things like the guards being psychic, this mod fixes that(mostly) and makes it so that guards DON'T instantly know where you are and DON'T instantly know when you've committed a crime, and makes them behave in much more realistic fashions, making the game much more immersive. My only gripe is the few times the guards are psychic, which isn't this mod's fault, because a mod can only take care of so much unrealistically written AI 10/10 Enhanced HotkeysThere's not much to say about this, makes anything related to hotkeys much more convenient, which is great, but it's a bit confusing for me, which means I must be an idiot 10/10 Playable DremoraAny mod out there that does a good job of letting you play a Dremora? Freaking awesome10/10 Mods I tried but didn't like Oblivion Pose Pack and Erotic Oblivion Pose Pack These are the kind of mods I refer to commonly as 'disappointment's', they could have been fantastic, but due to laziness or just general poor understanding of coding(this is me we're talking about), the mod is a frustrating thing that can often be considered a waste of time, this mod was often very buggy, tooltips were lazy, there was NO documentation of any kind to help people make this work correctly, nothing at all. The maker of this pack was, overall, just plain out lazy and did not care whether or not anyone besides himself could use this correctly 3/10 Mods I would like to see done Armor Overhauls and Weapon overhauls!Yes you heard me, I'd like to see overhauls to make all the armor in the game look better, it still looks good now, but some HD textures for the armor would be awesome, and indeed there are a few overhauls out there, but not for all armor in the game, which is sad and unfortunate. And while we're on the subject matter, there are a few mods that improve the look of weapons...but not all the weapons, why does it seem Daedric weapons and armor are passed up on this sort of thing? Do people think they're that awesome? If so, they're right, but doesn't mean they can't make it more awesome Improved Lich King ArmorJojjo's Frostmourne and Lich King armor mod is fantastic, not too op, looks great...but for a rabid Warcraft fan such as myself, the Lich King armor could look better, and if it looked better, I would be the happiest little person in the world Improved Faces...for everyoneIt's true that there are a lot of mods to make the woman of our Oblivion look...well freaking great, but the same does not hold true for NPC's...or the guys, why do the girls get to look great and those of us who play male PC's get to look like the same 'meh' Oblivion look? It'd be even better if the mod was logical in the way it assigned new faces, i.e. beggars look like weathered beggars, guards could have scars from fights in the past and more This is all I got for now, will be adding links and more as time goes on Edited December 16, 2011 by BeingShotAt

Harvald
Hi friend, Cause its allowed I will edit this post as often as I can and do some more comment. Blade Song (Pictures and further information)A romantic quest for a male player character. Fantastic voice with lip-sync, heavy action fighting against bad Orks, a great search for help, and, yes, a romance with a female Partner Tess Rysan, who is a fine non-CM Partner after solving the Quest. 4 to 6 hours of great entertainment. But be carefull, when Tess is lying as dead in her shag, don't do any other Quest or she will die. (10/10) LT_EquipTailItem1.1.0EquipTailItem is a small mod to have your human companions use the tail slot. It's a spell to use on the npc and aside the amulet slot, she/he also will use the tail slot after a few seconds. If you use circlets instead of Helmets, for example; there is no way without this mod. (10/10) Red Rose ManorA House mod. But this isn't all. The house near Imperial City gives a lot of stuff for companions. Cobl and non cobl verion included. Telepot to major citys, a secret pool. Red rose manor companion key and amulet open additional conversation options. Especially with Vilja you have fun for the aditional work for Vilja. You can now convert pelts into leather and make your own leather armor, you can smelt gold- and silver nuggets as well as misc silver items like spoons, urns etc to get ingots, and with the ingots you can craft your own jewelry. Additionally, you can enhance gold- and silver jewelry with various gems before you sell them or enchant them. An ingame Crafting Manual has been added - you'll find it both at the basement workbench and in bookshelves, as well as in a couple of other places in the manor. (10/10) Ring of Companionship A ring you need, if you manage more than one companion. Archers and mages tend not to care about hitting allies obstructing the line of sight to an enemy, and Area of Effect spells and arrows amplify the problem. Infighting can break out among the entire squad, on occasion, until half of them are unconscious. This plugin gives the player a batch of identical enchanted rings. Anyone in posession of one of these rings (they don't need to have them equipped) will refuse to fight anyone else who has one. With the intention of dividing these among your companions, think of them as a universal friendly fire protection. for a mage character its good to keep one ring in inventar, so the companionwould not fight him beein hit with friendly fire. (8/10, cause there are other opportunuties) Sorceress Rüstung for HGEC Ver2.0 and Athol Brose-Cloth and Armor HGEC Rhyk the creator of this armors is here on Tesnexus, but he shows us not the best of his work here. I don't know why, but these two armors are simply great for a female character especially for a swordmage the first and for a marks(wo)man the second. Use them only with LTEquipTailitem on companions. (9/10, if you like half naked characters, the wrong decision) Have fun  Harvald Edited December 16, 2011 by Harvald
BeingShotAt
Hi friend, are foreign comments allowed in this list. So I have one or more. One I do for the beginning. JCP768
How about a review of Integration: The Stranded Light? It's not as flashy or action packed like some of the other mods mentioned, but it is pure 100 grade RPG goodness! What with actual Elder scrolls lore, characters that have thousands of lines of dialogue (over 24 hours of silent dialogue in all), choices in how to proceed, and what quests to take, multiple ways of achieving objectives, skill checks, race checks, and checks of all of your actions which you can use to complete the quests, proper integration, and immersion in the world, quest diversity and variance, and really so much more. Ever since Integration came out my feelings towards the more basic dungeon crawl type quests have plummeted over time. And also Integration no longer requires RBP or LAME so now there's really no reason not to try it, since it's just a simple one file download that doesn't make any gameplay changes. Simyaz mods are also good for substance over flashy graphics, publicity focus, and constant hack-and-slash. AnimalRiot
@JCP768: I always wanted to try Integration but was put off by the mod's dependencies, so thanks for the tip!

I'll take a look at it and any other mods posted here as recommendations when I have time, not only do I have to keep up with friends who get unhappy when I don't show my face around HoN, LoL, and TF2, but I have to also keep an eye out for decent Skyrim mods as well to review. And I have to manage real life and some writing, so be patient good sir and good things will come in time Edited December 15, 2011 by BeingShotAt
