maximizers
Hello there prospective reader! Here I am again, grappling with Fallout 4, taking up your time and meta-physically hugging you for even bothering to read this. (If you're fine with that I mean, meta-physical handshakes work too. >_>) Anyway, I'll get down to brass tax. (tacks?) My issue is... Hard to describe properly. But at a certain point in a playthrough, NPCs will just refuse to speak with me. I'll get some standard 'filler' lines out of them. But the dialogue wheel itself just won't open. =/I've tried reverting to an earlier save to no avail. It's twice now that this issue has cropped up, both times around the 40 - 45 hour mark.I do have mods installed, and I'll post my load order below. montky
what some lament as 'catty', others find as 'personality' ehehe.I share your lamenting of fallout 4. it is clunky isn't it? I digress, to your question at hand;I had similar issues with dialog on both Console and PC versions...it involved walking away from someone with a dialog tab open.after a process of elimination, I found it was Strong -I'd walked away maybe in a battle, and when I approached Strong, the dialog box was already open.I completed the dialog, and it worked properly after that. sometimes, it can be as simple as that - a dialog box process is already open, and if you review the papyrus logs, that can be the cause. it can also be 'playerfactionstate' - basically, bad karma.accidentally shoot a BoS too many times, they wont talk, yet are not outright angry.kill a diamond city guard? they wont talk, none of the vendors either...companions - if you do stuff they hate, and then immediately do stuff they love, sometimes they'll turn hostile anyway, and you cant talk to them... I hope this gives some options...my code-fu is woeful in FO4, so I wouldn't be able to do much more Im afraid.good luck, and let us know how you get on
maximizers
Thanks for the reply! (And a fairly speedy one at that. =D) I hope it's something that simple! Unfortunately... I'm not sure which dialogue I would have left open... o.oI'm a little skeptical seeing as I can still open dialogue with companions and certain NPCs. Yet most vendors and quest givers are bugged to their breaches. >_< I'll keep tinkering and looking around, for now I'm just starting new games over and over again to combat the error. <=/
maximizers
Well! New game, took some time to invest in Fallout 4 once more. Unfortunately... It's happened once again, Sixteen hour mark this time. It's always a select few NPCs that I'm unable to speak with... KLEO, Trudy, Carla, Daisy, etc. Companions still have their dialog wheels as far as I know! And the Diamond City vendors seem peachy. I Just.... Blargh. :_:
