LE Transfer NPC's appearance to another NPC

I want to transfer one NPC's appearance to another NPC. How to do it?

Creation Kit:

Open source actor record

Open target actor record

Change settings on target actor record to match source actor record

Save plugin

Use Ctrl+F4 to create new face gen data files for target actor

 

You will need to do additional steps if mods are involved as well as if the actors are from different races.

It means, you look at one record and change the settings on the other record.

Example:

you want Bob to have Jim's looks, you would open Jim's record and then open Bob's record. Switch between the two records as you adjust the entries for appearance on Bob's record.

 

I can't make it any more simple than that without doing it. Cause if you are looking for step by step, I'd have to do it in order to write the steps and this isn't something that I've done often enough to have memorized.

 

 

There is another option, but if the NPC that you wan't the other to look like comes from a mod, then that mod will become required (and need to be temporarily toggled as a master). On the actor record in the bottom left, there is a box with a bunch of check boxes. Right above it is a place to assign an NPC. If you put the NPC you want to look like in there, you can then tick the check box labeled 'uses appearance' (or something along those lines).

This feels like something that would benefit from one of Mator's automation tools
