The Case of the Mysteriously Disappearing Workbench

Howdy folks!

 

So I was building up the Taffington Boathouse. The placement of the workbench for Taffington Boathouse was very inconvenient, so I decided to move it. I have both "Scrap Everything" allowing me to get settlements down to bare dirt if I choose, and "Place Anywhere" allowing me to place items wherever I wish. "Place Anywhere" also allows the main workbench to be selected and moved (also allows scrapping it).

 

I was nearly finished with my build when I noticed the main workbench (the red one) was missing. I TCL'ed and looked everywhere in the settlement (under the ground, in the water, inside the foundations I placed) but it was completely missing. Since I can still access the workbench (hold "F"), I decided it wasn't a big deal and I likely scrapped it by accident.

 

Moving on, I started to build out County Crossing. Again, the workbench placement was inconvenient as it was directly where I wanted to build my house, so I moved it so it was on top of the foundation (I moved it up by roughly half a foundation, rotated it by roughly 30 degrees, and moved it maybe a full foundation distance towards the edge of the foundation) and moved on. A short while later, I was placing more foundations when I actually saw the workbench disappear! Literally, right in front of my eyes, there one moment and gone the next.

 

I thought it had moved back to its original placement, but TCLing down to that spot shows it's not there. I searched the entire settlement methodically and can say with complete confidence the workbench is gone.

 

As I said, it's not a huge deal as I can still access it, but it's absolutely inconvenient and gives me real reason for concern. If this is happening now, what will be happening after another 100 hours or playing? Am I going to bork this runthrough and have to start over again?

 

Any insight, advice, ideas, concepts, observations, etc are welcome. I'm not a modding guru by any means, but I'm not completely hopeless, so if you have an idea of something I should look at or check, I should be able to supply the info you're wanting.

Is there a reason you have SpringCleaningCompatabilityPatch.esp? I don't see SpringCleaning in your mod list.

From what I've read and seen in xedit, the Spring Cleaning Compatibility patch works for the "Scrap Everything" mod as well.

 

Just had the disappearing workbench happen again......right in front of my eyes. This time I had literally only moved the workbench up by a few inches. Haven't been able to find anyone else with this problem.
