Spell Mods With Same-named Spells

I have a few mods that add spells to the game. I noticed there are a few spells that use the same name. What I would like to do is rename a few of the spells, however I don't know exactly what I need to change. For example, I know if I go into CK, pull up the Fireball spell, and change the name to Fishstank two things will happen. The first is that CK will ask if I'm wanting to create a new spell. I select no, because I don't want a new spell. Once this is done, the second thing that happens is that when I play my PC and pull up the magic menu, I'll see Fireball was replaced by Fishstank, but it still has everything else the same as Fireball.

 

What I don't know is what else would need to be changed. For instance, are the spell books and scrolls now called Fishstank, or do they remain named as Fireball? If any NPCs use Fireball, do I have to change them to use Fishstank? Do I want to change the reference name, or the display name? My first guess is to change the display name so when I look I see Fishstank, but the game sees Fireball because it's looking for the reference. I'd just like to have a clue as to how much work needs to be done before I go screwing with it.

The first is that CK will ask if I'm wanting to create a new spell.

 

That would happen if you change the ID, which you shouldn't, the ingame name is below. Leave the ID as it is, just change the name. For spellbooks the same, leave ID, change name.
