leot486
Looking to make a simple katana, or have someone nice enough make me it :P I am uncertain as to what program to use for Skyrim, as well as how to make the texture from scratch (if I make texture I will be using gimp). So this is what I want the sword to look like from a side, 2d view using...PAINT! :D http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b166/leot486/MySwordResized.jpg I'll try my best to describe the sword. I wanted the colors to be black and like a dark silver/steel color. The Handle where you hold it will be like a black cloth wrap. while the pommel, center piece and top will be the dark silver. The back edge of the blade is dark silver, while the front edge is black. The color split on the blade should be just about down the middle. I wanted the area where the tsuba would be (kind of is there) to start off as wide as handle as bottom and thin as it gets to the top and eventually point off to the blade. I wanted the handle to be rectangular like any other katana. So I was thinking someone, or myself could some how take the existing katana, cut off the tsuba, and then stretch and bend where needed. Wanted the blade a little longer then the katana already in game and a little wider. If you don't understand any of my description, please just ask. Thanks. Hmm...just realized this is a cross between mod talk and mod request....Move it if you desire, sorry I didn't notice sooner. It is more so a request then anything since I have 0 blender experience and very little gimp experience. severian1981
Why don't you just do it yourself? get Blender, watch tutorials and play around with it until its how you like it? Its not that hard really.
leot486
I have tried sitting and watching tutorials and it can't hold my attention. I have adhd so it is hard for me to focus on things like that. But I don't know how to make the proper nif files and what scripts and such I need to make a mesh that will work with skyrim. leot486
Anyone? What version of blender and what plug ins do I need to make a nif that will work for skyrim, and after it is made, how do I get it into game? I know I have to use nifskope to attach textures, but I don't even know how to make textures! :O
CampanaAliquanta
If I have time this weekend I can make a katana in blender with textures. You'll have to figure out how to get it into Skyrim yourself, or find someone else to help you, but I can set up a katana model using the info in the OP. That would be awesome! :D Thank you!! ^_^ Please PM with any questions and if you can. Want it to be one handed of course, don't know if you have to set that in blender. leot486
Was the thought of making a mesh easy really that obscure? Come on man destroying the little bit of motivation I had :( haha
firstprice
The modelling isn't that boring and time consuming, but the texturing etc, meeeeeeeeeehhh..

Hey, I picked it up pretty quickly considering I hadnt touched it in 6 years.I wouldnt consider myself even close to an expert but after mucking around for a couple of days I've got it down now :P uwv unwrapping is what prevented me getting it done in a day. See below. I dont think thats too bad for the first mesh in 6 years :P
