ragnarrog
No, i don`t like the Sims, but MArriage in Skyrim is very shallow. Imagine the Situation in real life:A: "Hey are you interested in me?"B: " "Of course". A:"Ok lets go f***" While this Sounds like a Men`s Dream, you can`t have Sex in Skyrim, so we need to add something else to RP a Relationship. I think it will be a bit too much to add more Quests for every possible Spouse, but at least the Ceremony of Marriage could be better. So , Ideas: State: Your Potential Spouse will be teleported to the Destination of Marriage.Improvement: Make her Follow you, and take her with you on the Wagon, or your horse. State: 4 Random People watching the ceremonyImprovement: make a quest where you have to choose some NPC`S to come to the Ceremony (like 1/20). State: After Marriage: Your Spouse says: "Meet me at my House in ...." Improvement: TAKE her back to your New Home. I think that would be a REAL Improvement, since it creates at least a bit Sense of a Relationsship. I mean you marry her, and say goodbye, meet me later? What has happened to Skyrim People ... Improvement II: If you take her back on a Wagon, Decorate Wagon with Flowers and Bells. K , now bring on the "emo!" Flames! :P
otis0310
While I disagree with most of your examples, I agree that more immersion must be put in place for marriage. I am more interested in post marriage acitvities (not sex) rather than the ceremony. Other than being asked for a meal, giving you some gold every day and acting as a new store you get no interactions what so ever. There is no immersion here at all. rjstaines
What if after the person agrees to marry you it starts a new quest line for things that need to be accomplished before you can start the ceremony, maybe find certain items (i.e. something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, maybe with a comedic twist.) also your Fiance would become your follower for the quest, maybe and yes indeed a spouse needs to be worth more than gold and a free meal/sleeping bonus.maybe responsibilities back? he/she sends you on random quests to fetch or deliver something.more special items that are marriage/ family related. I fancy myself a bit of a writer from time to time, but not a modder at all. If someone was looking to make this mod I would be willing to offer any help I could. Hoekzema
I agree that the whole marriage thing is way too short in this game. I already posted a addition I would enjoy: Family mod This Mod would add having the option to have children in the game. A bit like Fable, but less sucky :)
JeremeW5257
You should have to work harder to win the "affections" of your potential spouse...(Enable Multiple Spouses or Girlfriends also) Complete a favor/quest for them-Enemy kidnapped their mother/father/sibling and you rescue them-Retrieve a "valuable" item for them Prove yourself..."I will marry you when you..." -Kill certain # of dragons-Attain certain amount of gold-Become Thane-Buy a house Increasing Difficulty with each Spouse/Girlfriend-Make the 2nd, 3rd spouse harder to get-Fight bigger bosses-Have better home with servants Make any female/male a potential spouse...even if already married-May have to "take out" existing spouse (secretly) first-Complete favor or request afterwards Dress/Equip Spouse as you wish-Give spouse clothes, jewelry and they actually wear it-The more expensive the gifts, the nicer they are to you
