RTS fallout - command and conquer

Someone please make an RTS for fallout, it has all the makings of a great game, the outposts are there and can be built up to defend.

The outpost can recruit, all we need is some overview UI and the ability to send units to attack/defend another outpost. and of course an enemy which is doing the same.

The enemy could be anything, one of the other factions, which again is already in game, or the aliens.

cool!

that would be the best of both worlds -

FO comes full circle,

it started out as an iso-3rd person RTS-RPG-shooter... FO1, FO2, FO-tactics...

and it comes back to that in some ways with that in settlement builder?

is it propose as a FO4 mod,

or, a standalone thing?

Reminds me of Brütal Legend. I suppose you could add an RTS element to F4 in a similar way. You have your base, where you can use workshop mode to build defenses and unit production buildings, then in normal mode you can make the production buildings spit out combat units, and throw waypoint grenades or something to make them go to a certain point.

Now that I think of it, that whole thing might actually be good without the whole base building thing. You could add some tools to actually lead your troops into battle, as a true minutemen general or raider overboss.

- You have some NPCs (10-20), which you can organize into squads beforehand. Maybe using a consumable: A "toggle squad selection mode": you "eat" it, and then if you try interacting with one of the relevant NPCs, you get a menu where you can assign them to one of X squads. Or do it like: E) talk R) assign squad?

- Then you have something to control them. Maybe a "consumable" walkie-talkie, which you can hotkey, also a signal flare grenade. When you use the walkie-talkie, you get first a squad selection menu, and then orders. Possible orders are: "come here", "hold position where you are", "spread out", and also "be defensive" or "be offensive".

- One of them is considered "squad leader", you can talk to him to issue the same orders, but using the companion command mechanism. Aka, you can tell him "hold position" via dialogue, then order him to go to a certain location, like you can do with companions, and his squad will then hold position there. Or if you order him to attack someone, the entire squad attacks as well.

- additionally, you could have command beacons, which are technically mines. as soon as you place one, you have to select which squad is supposed to come to it, and what they are supposed to do when they reach it.
