polyface groups that play avi or gif

Hi there...

there is a mod I have been working on for a while...

I was looking into mapping face-groups in Unity,

to have those faces of objects be able to play

files in a folder, such as .avi, .flv, .gif or mpeg encoding etc...

rather than having to re-encode to some other stupid format.

most often, this will be to play a 1000 x 1000 animation loop for screens,

or for various surfaces, to play a .gif,

so as to enhance lenticular/anistropic mapping to a face and save on space or

needless lines of code...

eg - the TV and computer screens at 'Books" schools in FO4 could play a 'lecture'

along with 'how-to' vids etc.

some of the guides elsewhere are difficult, and have many lines of code.

I am a novice to that level of mod-fu hehe.

pro-modders;

is this a thing? is it possible to map some poly-face-group to a folder heirarchy,

and have that group of faces play files of a format in-game?

does such a mod already exist elsewhere, that can be porting into FO4?

I am aware of 'wasteland TV' mod, yet it requires converting of the source material etc...

I have seen similar such mods made and work stable-ly

for Team Fortress 2 and Half Life...

even the sims.

------

experiments so far have been,

with attempting to mod a lava-lamp surface to be 'lava-y' and give off lava-lamp diffraction pattern simply.

attempting to mod a nuka-cola bottle to cast different reflections based on that input .gif, say, a leibniz gasket...

attempting to mod mr handys at greygarden's texture map .gif

to coincide with the game weather, to alter the texture map as the weather changes...

(ie, increased rust with winter, increased water reflections in wet weather, sparking effects in radiation storm)

attempting to recreate the 'hologram' effect from FO3 and FONV...

thanks for reading, and for any ideas you have, or directions you can point me in.
