MrMiggins
Is anyone else here a little worried that there are going to be so many mods available for Skyrim that it's going to be difficult to find the good ones among all the "Hello World" type mods that people are making? When the creation kit comes out I'm sure the number of mods being released is going to go up exponentially. Perhaps in addition to the endorsements, there could be an "Editors Choice" award or something like that.
PaladinRider
Most downloaded files: - In last two weeks. - Of all timeMost endorsed files: - in last two weeks / - of all time Most endorsed recently added files Most downloaded/Endorsed of adult/ non-adult "Hot Files" File of the Month 25 Categories - each can be sorted in any way Search bar No I don't think we'll have a problem finding a mod. I'd do editor's choice if it had certain criteria that made it necessary apart from all the other categories.. Maybe if the author did something really neat that would otherwise go unnoticed. opmaroon
I've made the mistake of installing too many mods. Some landscape texture packs are total garbage, even ones with high endorsements. Not sure what can be done about this though, short of having uploads reviewed by admin. It would be nice if NMM allowed you to view which mods were overriding others, in it's current state it seems more of an installer than a manager. Shantih
You can download mods manually, extract the files and open them with Nifskope or Gimp. That will give you a good idea of what the modification is about. Endorsements can be an indication but bear in mind is that some mods that you may like may not have many endorsements whereas others that you won't like will be in the top 10 of the most endorsed mods on the Nexus. Finding the right mods for your game is time consuming as it requires some experimenting with mods but it's also a rewarding process.

I agree... too many 'modders' have a habit of opening vanilla textures, cranking up the sharpness and re-releasing... I much prefer the vanilla version over what they do. Unfortunately the average person who downloads these mods don't understand this, and just perceive a difference as better.
Skree000
i dont think theres too many mods, but one issue that Exists is the popular mods get more popular, and the newer mods get ignored.there are SO MANY undiscovered mods out there that are totally awesome, but the ones that stay at the top are the ones that are already there. Its a bit funny really, but its quite similar to the distribution of wealth in North America, 1% of the mods have 99% of the endorsements....but its not because that 1% of mods are the only thing worthwhile, its because 1% of the mods are the ones that are continuously shown on the 'top 100, or best of the best' leaderboards. I found a bunch of tiny little unheard of mods with 1 endorsement that are freaking phenomenal.. sad, but, what can you do. PaladinRider
These little known mods will stay 'little-known' until people endorse them... So if you haven't endorsed a mod, then you shouldn't be complaining!
bombomb
Lawl, most downloaded mods are the nudity mods so just cause a mod is great doesn't mean it's gonna have tons of DLs
