Qwinn´s Ultimate DAO Fixpack v3 (no longer beta!)

Really happy with the way it came out. It's only a few lines, but it adds a lot I think, given it's the only dialogue that exists between Loghain and Anora following the Landsmeet. And God knows Loghain could use any content we can find, he doesn't seem to get to interact with anyone but you much.

LA3226: Post-Landsmeet Redcliffe: Restored an ambient conversation between Loghain and Anora on the second floor of the castle (requires Loghain being recruited, of course). This dialogue will trigger automatically when you open the door leading to where Loghain waits for you, so you'll want to move forward quickly if you want to hear it all.

Thinking of adding a highlights section to the readme detailing the major restorations. Something like this:

RESTORATION HIGHLIGHTS (this is above and beyond many many dozens of lines restored here and there in various dialogues):

Restored all broken codex entries (aside from a handful in the "Controls" section)

Restored human female cocky soundset

Restored option to show mercy to Mandar Dace if fighting him during the Dwarf Noble Origin

Restored dozens of scripted approval changes, particularly when first meeting various followers

Restored 3 different reactions each to breakups with Morrigan and Zevran, depending on approval level

Restored harsh breakup with Leliana

Restored turning Morrigan in as an apostate to Greagoir

Restored dialogue when taking Morrigan to Flemeth's hut during her personal quest

Restored the proper ending to Flemeth's Real Grimoire quest.

Restored several conversations with Oghren in the Deep Roads

Restored long dialogue with Wynne about Connor, and fixed bugs usually preventing another long dialogue with her between "Rescue the Queen" and the Landsmeet

Restored 18 interparty banters that previously would not play at all

Restored Alistair introducing you to Ser Donall in Lothering
Restored being able to distract Lanaya (with very high persuade/cunning) long enough to steal her Songbook without getting caught

Restored the ability to heal Deygan in "Wounded in the Forest"
Restored ability to turn Godwin in to Greagoir

Restored several ambient dialogues between Redcliffe villagers and Shale

Restored non-functioning morale boosts/penalties to the Redcliffe militia and knights depending on how you prepared them for Attack at Nightfall

Restored combat shouts and calls for healing by Redcliffe militia and knights during Attack at Nightfall, which vary depending on morale and sobriety

Restored Sophie's Guard being able to catch you ransacking Sophie's room in the Gnawed Noble Tavern

Restored 3 of the 5 intended ways to be able to Steal the Teyrns Crown

Restored Haven alternate shopkeeper if you side with the Cultists

Restored exchange between the beggar and a guard in the Hall of Heroes

Restored Vartag confronting you in the Provings if you fought for Harrowmont after agreeing to work for Bhelen

Restored the ability for a dwarf noble who didn't kill Trian to be exonerated

Restored the ability for a dwarf noble to complete "Of Noble Birth" properly

Restored Oghren asking to join the party permanently after a king is crowned

Restored ability for Shale to come rescue you during "Captured!"

Restored interjections by Leliana, Morrigan and/or Sten during the Landsmeet if you are betrayed by Anora

Restored Alistair thanking you for not making him king

Restored dialogue between Loghain and Anora in Redcliffe Castle after the Landsmeet

Restored the last two "Story So Far" updates in the game.

Restored many location based party comments and follower interjections during dialogues

Restored 13 previously unobtainable items in game

Hopefully that's enough to encourage people who thought they'd played the game to death already to give it another try! This was a quick skim of the readme, but if I missed something that any of you particularly liked during gameplay, please let me know and I'll add it to the list!

Sorry for completely disappearing, but this summer has been busier than I originally thought! Anyway, I'm still working my way through my gameplay with 3.0 installed. You were asking for mods that are compatible, so here's what I'm using that work well with your mod:

  • Extra Dog Slot (never leave home without it!)
  • Zevran ASAP
  • The Rescue from Ishal
  • Stamina Potion 1.0
  • Skip the Fade
  • Upgradable Cousland Sword and Shield
  • Human female cocky voice
  • UDF dyekit

Plus, I'm using a lot of modded armors, such as the Wardens of Ferelden and the Phoenix Armory, and they work fine. All of these are, I believe, on Nexusmods.

Bugs-wise, I haven't really run into many, and it looks like the few I have encountered have already been addressed. But I'm getting into Orzammar now, so here's hoping that storyline is a lot less buggy!

Wow, you got it into the game after all? Awsome! You’re definitely right in that it adds a lot, I can’t wait to see it in-game for myself.

"I'm only removing plot items upon quest completion and in cases where there is a proper "quest failed" journal state. The ones you listed don't have such a state. I'd consider the plot items to be useful reminders to the player of what they can go back and take care of should they choose to reload an old save to do so. No plans to do anything about those."

Got it. What about the Forged Documents though? They’re from Betrayed from Within, given to you by Vartag Gavorn. If you don’t plant them (which the fixpack will now recognize as supporting Harrowmont) they will remain in your inventory forever.

Let's put it this way. If you do (or more to the point, don't do) things in such a way that a quest journal entry stays open in your journal forever, any associated plot items will also stay. Do you still have Betrayed From Within open in your journal? If it is, you're stuck with the plot item too. If it isn't, I'll get rid of it when the quest gets closed in your journal. Edited by Qwinn

Yeah, the quest closes and ends after the Paragon plot. The Completed Quests entry says “You failed to deal with Jarvia and her carta.” Wait, “failed to deal with”? That doesn’t sound right. I didn’t plant the papers, but Jarvia is definitely “dealt with” since she’s dead.

That as a closed journal entry is clearly a bug, as "dealing with Jarvia" cannot be legitimately avoided in the course of completing A Paragon of Her Kind. I'll have to see the exact wording when I get home. Edited by Qwinn

PI3215: "Forged Documents", quest "Betrayed From Within": If you accepted the quest but then crowned a king before planting the papers, the quest would be closed as failed but the Forged Documents would be stuck in your inventory forever. Thanks to TotalBalance of the Nexus forums for making me aware of this one.

OR3291: "Betrayed From Within": If you accepted Vartag's quest to plant evidence against Harrowmont but never actually did so, the quest would be closed as failed when you crowned a king, but the text of that closing journal entry would only state that you "failed to deal with Jarvia and her carta", which is incorrect. This closing journal entry will now properly reflect what you actually failed to do. Thanks to Totalbalance of the Nexus forums for making me aware of this one.

The "Shifting Allegiances" version of this failed quest journal entry was fine, no change needed there.

2 Bugs I have encountered are

1)I was unable to complete the trial of crows and crime wave quest. When I turned in the last assignment , both of the quests just say 'quest updated' not 'quest completed' I fixed it by disable your mod and that allow me to progress through the quests.

2) During Warden Funeral, Warden just suddenly spring out of his/her deathbed and be able to talk to people (This one I am not to sure because it either cause by your mod or other mod)

I Use Improve atmosphere mod.

Could I ask you to disable IA and try to recreate those bugs?

For the record, I do not expect IA to be compatible. At all. I know he changes Slim Couldry's dialogue, and odds are either mod alone will work, but not both at once.

Out of curiosity, when you use both together, does Couldry have a store?

EDIT: I just finished Crime Wave by turning in Andraste's tears and it worked fine for me. I suspect trying to combine IA with my fixpack is the culprit for both those issues.
