chocolambot
I was talking to my friend about historical circumstances where people would dual wield. He mentioned there was one technique where you have a short blade and a long blade (forgot the names). He said the short blade was for quick stab attacks, where as the long blade was for parry and heavy attacks. Now this could work easily with the following configuration. Right Hand: The stabby weapon (any 1h weapon for consistancies sake) Left Hand: The parry/heavy weapon RH Press = Quick Stab attackRH Hold = Power Lunge (slower, but still quick)LH Press/Hold = Parry with LH SwordLH+RH Press = Pummel (similar to shield bash)LH+RH Hold = Power attack with parry sword The right hand would be stanced low, ready to stab, while the left hand would be raised ready to block. Thoughts? I just thought it was cool that there was a real world application for duel wield, and it was to get openings, without sacrificing all your defense. So this above map SHOULDN't require any new scripting, I hope after CK, but it's mostly an accurate representation of the practical use of duel wield. Instead of just the max hit point no defense that is in vanilla. Keep in mind, hit points would be lower, because you can't power duel wield attack, only heavy and quick attacks as you can see. Thoughts? THIS IS A SUGGESTION TO HELP MODDERS WHO MIGHT WANT TO REVAMP DUEL WIELD. Edited December 15, 2011 by chocolambot

redxavier
Sounds great - what you describe is actually how dual wielding is supposed to work. With the secondary weapon primarily being used to parry or trap the enemy's single weapon. Few people can swing two weapons around proficiently enough to make it work, which is why the double attacks in Skyrim are so ludicrous. What I think will end up happening at first will be a replacing of the shield with a weapon, holding will block and bashing will attack or parry depending on timing.
