bluesunmerc
Yea, I think SSE is great. As some have stated a lot of the steam reviews are quite stupid. Most seem to think that SSE was going to look like a heavily modded skyrim out of the box which is not what was promised. The fact that I can use mods like open cities and JKs skyrim and not have my frames tank is already a huge improvement. I think most are underestimating how big of an improvement the stability in SSE is. Even with both Skyrim and SSE running at 60fps SSE just seems the be smoother and more responsive, and if the holdouts want to sit and stew in their 32b skyrim than that is their decision, but I will take more stability any day of the week. SMB92
1440p, 60fps Ultra, no stutters, hardly recognizable as a Bethesda game. Even if the dragons still fly through walls.
FlashFatman
I think just having 64 bit is more than enough to be happy about. it's a huge improvement over the old game which really is so buggy that you have to be oh so gentle modding it. I've just been messing around and adding some mods to try it out and it is working beautiful. I mean open cities works! I can actually put in JK's Riverwood and I get no stutter or screen tear. I'm just waiting for all the good HDT mods to come along before I get serious about modding it though.
SMB92
I think it will also provide some refresh to the community, while not all mods will come over to the new version, a lot of new stuff will be made and it will give the game a breath of new life. Sure we say goodbye to some good mods and times from the OG, but we also say goodbye to the constant up hill battle for performance. perhaps more will flock back this time after they hear how exceptional the game runs now, and that ENB/Reshade is secondary rather than "mandatory' to enjoy the gfx as well. thunderlord2200
in dear honesty i am surprised it looks better then the old skyrim, and when you compare them both u can see it. i dont care about modded and un_modded skyrim. its ovice it will beat the textures. nuff said. i really do think , ...and i was shocked at how much better it did look then the old base game, it loads the game far better then fallout 4 does for crying out loud. i love how fast this game loads and how much stronger this game feels.. (runs better) i agree with most that this is how skyrim should of felt like and ran. i really do like what they did to this game. i love new look. i really hope a few ENBs out there could enhance the look and feel of this. i live the misty look to this game. to me it makes it look more magical. i really to like ...love the improvements they added to the game. and how much more stable it is and how much over all FASTER it loads the game. i still cant beleave the load times are wait easily under 20 sec at times.. (mostly) ...tho at times the game does take time to load only because i am running mods.. xD. but the base game is very Zippy. i did vote on steam that i did like it and gave it thumbs up. for being a beth game i was really shocked. it seemed alot of the bugs i found where taken out... FlashFatman
I agree, someone has to step up and make a new version of SkyUI and MCM. We also need FINS for the HDT. I wish I had the skills but alas I don't. But just think of the possibilities for new mods we haven't thought of yet.
adwag
It looks great with weather & lighting mods actually. But that orange filter tho... And the oversaturated purple one (is it at the evening?). Any way to remove them?
SMB92
I do find the mist to be a little on the annoying side, but I think if the colors were just that bit more vibrant it would blend a bit better. But that's just my perception. I don't mind the afternoon orange so far, it makes a lot of sense in Whiterun.
MKIIV
Skyrim SE looks better out of the box right now. Looking at my modded original it now looks cheesy or cartoonish, albeit sharp. SE has more gravitas. Some pics with SE: See that looks terrible imo. Anyway right now the lighting is fundamentally flawed by the new shaders in some ways. It's more noticeable on characters. It seems most people don't have an eye for it, or it doesn't bother them. I noticed some people can't see it even if you point it out, so if they like it that's all that matters. Enb Boris noticed it and others so i know it's not just me. Went back to 32 bit for now. I spent a lot of hours getting rid of that bloomy hazy console look in 32bit overall. In some weathers it's appropriate if not overdone. But the first thing i did when i started up 64 bit was get rid of the DOF, then and installed my own lighting and it's just not the same, it basically puts back the look i tried to get rid of in the first place. So that sharp "cartoony" look i guess. But i'd say it's more realistic than above overall imo. Not particularly trying to go for realism though, but basically a clear sharp look. I go outside and look at all the pines and mountains around me where i live in the north, and am basing it off what i see every day. To me the above is a heavy video game post effects look. And what those are emulating mostly are camera effects. It's a preference thing i guess. 32 bit custom lighting, not even really very heavily modded.http://i.imgur.com/g70el4c.png http://i.imgur.com/KpOUjlv.png http://i.imgur.com/fOMs1qJ.png Reality still somewhat sharp even if it's foggy or cloudy http://il5.picdn.net/shutterstock/videos/16116151/thumb/1.jpg
