TheCoIRe
When installing certain mods like 'NobleSkyrim' or 'Vivid Landscapes' with Nexus Mod Manager I get this error mesage: An error ocurred during install:Access to path denied: E:\Games\Nexus Mod Manager\Skyrim\Mods\cache\*insert mod name here*\Data\fomod\info.xmlThe mod was not installed. Changing paths, changing windows security and access to folders, redownloading mods, reinstalling NMM or Skyrim and executing NMM as admin have not fixed the problem yet.The only option is to install the mods manually which I don't want to do because I can't uninstall them after. OttoHans
I have the same god damn problem at the moment and it is driving me nuts... I wiped skyrim and now i want to make a fresh re install but some files , i had no problems with before, just wont install proberly due to the error " access to fomod.info.xml declined".. i checked the zips, and the difference between those files and the others are the missing fomod files.. but they worked before didnt they ? maybe new nmm update now refuses to install without fomod files ? i have no clue

OttoHans
update, i tried methods from simply starting as administrator to changing NMM directory, manually giving admin rights to all main files to trying to add a fomod/info.xml file by my own. All to no avail. I just simply manually installed these mods now. had rather luck with only 8-9 of 200 mods having this problem. But still it keeps confusing me because i never had problems with the installation of these mods before. PDF
Same here, NMM keeps giving me this error with some big files like SMIM...it then installs part of stuff, uncleanly, and stops.. Latest versions seems to have some big bugs, since I got the Skyrim-SE compatible versions NMM also crashes regularly, which I've never seen in 5 years before ! TheCoIRe
Installing manually works fine but if I mess up I have to redo everything and I don't have enough capacity for tons of backups.
WanderingIvie
I'm having the same issue, as others have noted running as administrator has no effect. I have noticed that retrying can sometimes work. The install percentage seems to fail at different points on each retry, and if it gets to 100% it will register a completed installation. On a related note, this issue for me is much more common with larger mods. Also, I seem to have slightly better luck with files that I downloaded manually and added to NMM from that file, than with mods that were downloaded via NMM. There have been a few mods that I downloaded via NMM, had a few failed install attempts, completely removed from NMM, downloaded manually and added to NMM via file, that then successfully installed on the first try. I've been able to get all but 2 mods (Interesting NPCs and KS Hair Renewal) installed like this. Obvously for most mods it's easier to do a manual install than go through that process, but if there's a mod you really want to install via NMM, I hope this helps.
