BSA are just Compress Archive where the magic? & every Game under the sun uses some form of it, it not Rocket Science, Loose override it in every game under the sun not just Bethesda.

Â

Also who recommends unpacking them, like to know who these Einsteins are. PS Edit UndoCopy would you to delete these files, But not every one has that Skill, advising some who can't is nothing but trouble, you are not doing them any favors by tell them to unpack BSA. Use your limited wisdom to see the reasoning in that.

repeating myself I said to

Unpacked to a Temp Location, Repack it, then install loose files with the Mod Manager for easy Uninstalling (mister I just Double Click It & Unpack in the Data Folder) if you must.

Yes point in case is that loose files will work and will be faster than archive, although not detrimentally. And Einstein says old BSA not working with new SSE so must unpack. Using mod manager to install such files is a good idea, I use Wrye bash personally for Oldrim.

Far as I am concerned having loose files is good for load times as less decompression. From what I see, any loose file will override a BSA counterpart so the thinking that each mod will use its own assets from its own BSA is probably false.

Correct me if I'm wrong

It a test by Ethatron the author of BSAopt, BSA Loaded Faster sorry

roughly the same file

loose 0.05 sec

bsa packed 0.0375 sec

I agree but to a Temp Location Repacked It as Loose & install with Mod Manager else you are asking for trouble later on. Cheer & was fun

I beg your pardon, but I made no claim that I "know most", simply using logic that decompression would add latency, however I did say 'correct me if I'm wrong".

Thanks for posting that info, but watch your tone.

I put up my mod, Dragons Keep, for testing, and it ported over pretty well. The things I noticed that are glitched are some modded decorative items, three custom made invisible furniture activators that won't activate, & the MCM menu which isn't visible without SKSE yet. But, otherwise, everything is working perfectly.
