erei
Everytime I try to edit something in the GECK (anything with a preview window it seems), I have this error : AssertFile:c:\_Fallout3\Platforms\Common\Code\BSShader\BSShaderManager.cppLine: 1996Abort-Retry-IgnoreMy Geck and FO3 are both up to date (1.5 Geck). Geck is installed properly in the FO3 folder.I tried to google the issue, and found 2 ways to solve it, but none worked. The first one involved changing the associated graphic card because it can start with the integrated GPU. I don't have an integrated GPU, and my NVIDIA pannel doesn't have the option to force the use of my GPU.The second one involved changing the shader 14 (as it's prone to error apparently). I thought I was onto something because I had to do something rather similar a few weeks ago on Oblivion. Didn't work though. I would greatly appreciate any help on the matter :) Or alternatively, if you had a mod to import the weapons/armor of F:NV into Fo3, which doesn't involve using a Russian plugin :D
Deleted1205226User
Among the three choice you have (Abort-Retry-Ignore) what happens when you try Retry or Ignore? Most of the time "Ignore" let me continue to work. Have you tried the Geck Power-up? http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/15067/? It reduces and eliminate some of the errors. erei
No matter what I choose, the Geck crash. I just tested Geck Power Up, but I still have the same issue.

erei
Software location Version AKA source "retail or steam" it matters PC specs Mods if any installed 1/as I said, FO3 main folder2/Steam, bought the game years ago in retail, but it's installed through steam nowadays3/win 10 x64Intel I5 3233 Mhz16Go SDRAMGTX 660 Ti4/none. I wanted to make a mod for the game before replaying it (I find F:NV better for the weapons available, while I prefer FO3 for the story, I wanted to have the best of both :D)

Mktavish
Ouch ... Fallout 3 inside of steam ? But the simple answer is ... get steam outside of Program files ...Meaning do something like " F:\MyGames\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 3 goty"For example ... They have a tutorial on how to do that. https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7418-YUBN-8129 Edited October 31, 2016 by Mktavish

Purr4me
"same issue"; Ok uninstall the CK using the OS app.Download, extract, Overwrite the executable to an earlier Engine from here: (http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/ajax/downloadfile?id=46419)That will enable you to reinstall the GECK, the enable you to update it, then you can run the steam application to re-verify and update the engine back. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/4635/? Because you stated you own the steam game ,you need to run the steam application last so all the data ends up correctly.--------------------------------But...If you have installed any mods into that game currently? the ignore all of this, you have a ported file in the data directory the geck can not read.yeah, error codes up the butt.
