Cowgoesmoo3
I recently saw a Brodual video which changed my expectations and impression of SSE. First I just thought this is a way for Bethesda to exert more power and control (which it does) over modding and future modding for its games, and didn't really offer much. While Skyrim right now has a huge assortment of problems, then again, we've been playing it for half a decade now. But I'm pretty sure people will end up deciding whether to switch or not..? I'm fairly certain I won't switch, despite that S:SE has some nice advantages. But what are the pros and cons, and where is modding headed with respect to S:SE right now?
CiderMuffin
Bethesda is not exerting more power or control over modding by offering a different place to upload mods besides the Nexus.
FrankFamily
Pros:- Several improvements, like ones brodual lists for example. Cons:- Some textures are as ugly as vanilla or just upscaled => who cares, use replacers as every single mod user has done with the vanilla game. texture replacers should work right away so zero problems there.- Missing compatibility on some mods => the really good/important ones will eventually get ported, it's a matter of time and with some luck it will attract more modders or inspire some dormant modders back into making stuff. So i don't see any solid con and i don't think they get more control over modding, if anything, they expand it.
