Skatemice
OKay so i have a problem. I have been using the 4 gb mod cause my game crashes without it everytime i play and today when i click on skyim4gb launcher i get an error saying TESV.exe Entry Point Not Found - The pocedure enrty point Steam User Stats could not be located in the dynamic link library steam_api.dll. i click okay and then is says access denied. The regular launcher works fine and everything else is goodbut i try redownloading skyrim 4gb and still got the same problem. So if anyone can help please is will be deeply appreciated cause i can't really play my skyim right now. Thanks

I was using skyrim 4gb for a day and then today I got that "procedure entry point"/ "access denied" error just like you! I've been researching for the past two hours trying to find a fix and was just about to make my own thread when i found this. Did you uninstall and do what the other guy said? Did it work? Please reply. Thanks.
Varta
Ugh, that's a very crappy problem to run into. First, restart your computer, after you are booted up go into your Skyrim root folder, you'll see the steam_api.dll, move this to another location i.e desktop, then verify integrity of game cache through steam, this is found by right clicking the game in the steam window, selecting properties then local files. This will redownload your steam_api.dll, if the game works it means your .dll simply had been corrupted and it's a lot faster then reinstalling the entire game. If the game still fails to load, you will need to reinstall steam completely as your installation itself may have been corrupted, this means also getting rid of it's registry hooks, this can be done with a program like CCleaner: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner, after cleaned restart your computer and redownload a fresh copy of steam. Skatemice
okay i got the .dll thing out and did the verify integrity cache thing and it placed a new one in it, but before all this i had already deleted the skyrim 4gb stuff since it wasn't working and now when i go back to skyrim nexus to download it, it gives me the location of it in my computer and says application not found. If you have any info on that then that would be cool but i guess all just turn my mods off till skyrim is offically updated with the use of 4 gbs. Thanks a lot though. Skatemice
Hey guys no more worries i guess steam just came out with the patch for the 4 gigs and now all mods on know crashing from orginial TESV. Just open up steam and it will download like 18 mb for skyrim and you don't need teh 4gb mod anymore.
TuollafBoy
I just ran into this problem tonight. I installed the mod manager and 4gb failed to load. What worked for me was reinstall 4gb WITH the manager. Now all is well. Hope this works for you. Cheers.

I've been playing fine with it (and no other 4GB mods etc.) for the past 4 hours or so... I have plenty of HD textures to stress Skyrim beyond the 2GB breaking point. On the other hand, having it installed doesn't seem to hurt either. I played about 2 hours after I posted my response last night and it was fine. I am playing Skyrim on a nearly 4 year old notebook and the 4gb mod made a huge positive difference for me.
