Likes and dislikes about skyrim?

I'm bored and because of that i created a thread to waste your time if you wish to participate (possible typo in there, i suck at spelling when bored).

 

Now, please share your likes and dislikes about skyrim. I'll share mine.

 

 

LIKES:

 

-Suitable hairstyles and Beards

-BAR BRAWLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-Epic theme song

-How much role-playing there is.

-Werewolves

-No guns

-magic kicks ass

-Christopher Plummer is in it!

-The swearing mudcrabs mod!!! (and mods probably have nothing to do with this lol)

-They fixed the thing in oblivion when even if you *touch* an object everyone is all like "OMFGZORSJ=M-0VD HS8G HIS A FROOOKING THIEEFFFFF 9UAGHF g<u(y!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

-DISMEMBERMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

DISLIKES:

 

-The swords are too fantasy like and look weird, Is it too much to ask just for a nice simple medieval sword like in oblivion?

-Outfits can be boring sometimes.

-You look fugly without a beard.

-Redguards dont sound like black people.

-You cant be young, males have to look like... 43 years old or something and females look around 39... (Praise the modders for fixing this!)

-The hairstyles from oblivion arent in the game like Todd howard promised >:( (they were all fugly anyways so meh).

-LYDIA WONT MOVE OUT OF THE DOORFRAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :wallbash: (Thats when fus ro dah'ing her comes in handy!).

-The final battle against alduin was too bloody easy like mankar cameron was in oblivion.

-Cant re-marry. (least i cant)

-HAVING TOO PUT UP WITH JERKISH NO GOOD POORLY RAISED KIDS INSULTING YOU AND WHEN YOU ATTACK THEM, THEY ARE BLADE PROOF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Once again, mods fixed this)

-NOT ENOUGTH BLOOD!!!!!!!!!!

-CANT DISMEMBER ANY OTHER BODY PARTS OTHER THAN THE HEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-WHEN WILL THE GUARDS SHUT THE f*** UP ABOUT ARROWS IN THE KNEE!?!?!?!?

-SKYRIM IS MAKING ME WHINE LIKE HELL!!!!!!!!!

-Some of the cheats dont work.

 

 

We'll, those are my dislikes and likes about skyrim! now i just realised how much you can hate more than love XDDD

Likes: the graphics are fantastic; just BEAUTIFUL scenery.

Per usual, Bethesda has FULLY developed a great many quests; large and small and done a GREAT job of intermingling some of them.

It remains true to the history of the PREVIOUS games (Morrowwind, Oblivion)).

Dislikes: NEW system aren't always BETTER systems!

The so called "bartering" system has NO BARTERING in it. It's simply a mercantile system (I INFINITELY preferred the mixed system used in Morrowwind. It allowed you to sell smaller value items and build up a merchant's inventory and then take those same items back later on as "change" in larger transactions. it also made it possible to buy or sell MORE than one item at a time.

I REALLY detest the fact that (just as in Oblivion and unlike Morrowwind) you CANNOT place objects where you want them in this game! Instead you can only place items IN CONTAINERS OR throw them out to land where ever ! I want the ABILITY to CHOSE WHERE I want objects to BE in this game!

Lastly, speaking of choices, I hate the manner in which char creation is handled. In Morrowwind, YOU decided your char starting stats and decided which INDIVIDUAL skills you wanted to have as your primary focus, which ones as a secondary set and which ones were your LAST priority.

In short, I'm less concerned with pretty pictures than with the ability to "customize" my game WITHOUT having to either "mod" it or use the console! I want to be able to do THAT ... IN GAME! It was THAt ability to make MY game MY OWN right from char creation that got me hooked on Morrowwind. It's disappearance in these last two games has utterly disappointed me!

• -to easy even on master difficulty
• -lack of dialogue options
• -no consequences after important quests
• -small towns
• -empty towns
• -bad textures
• -it feels like a console port
• -companions are crap
• -Steam
• -no CS/CK on release date
• -BUGS
• -armors and weapons diversity
• -messy hair
• -the fact that I have to complain about all these

Well I think the characters aren't ugly at all, they just don't look like Fantasy-Kitsch. Now the most popular Oblivion mods seem to reveal that a lot of people like especially that kind of look, but one thing I value about TES is, that it has grown beyond such taste. Remember: in other games you do not have this option at all or you can choose between three guys who all look like the average soap opera beau.

And why do people, who want a babyface-manga-look, on the other hand want to kill children? If someone insults me, then it's fine to have a brawl-option, but with a child that would be ridiculous. So that particular point rather seems strange to me, but I'm not the dark brotherhood type anyway, so perhaps there's just a lack of deeper understanding of other peoples dark sides on my part.

But the point about the whiny american accents I can fully support. I was hoping they would fully correct that in Skyrim, because it was very annoying and inappropriate about Oblivion when someone in full medieval armor gave me that george bush talk. And I really have no nerve to play the shitty german version, which I tried first as I'm from Deutschland.

Yeah, I've yet to find a decent translation. That's why I'm always buying the english version of any given game.

 

But as for the accents, in a fantasy setting I like british accents a whole lot better.

 

Yet Astaril has a point when it comes to characters. They are ugly. And by ugly I mean, they lack character. You encounter the same model over and over which ties right in with the general cardboard character of the NPCs.

They really need to learn some respect. I've just learned to give them a wide berth so as not to trigger their idiotic dialogue. It wouldn't be so bad if the game didn't spawn the NPCs in the same places everytime you enter Whiterun. That kid, Braith is always passing me just as I'm going home.

You make some good points that other people miss. You're right, there is no bartering system anymore. Under a barter system it should be possible to go into a shop with no gold and still acquire new things, by swapping items in your inventory with the trader. And having to sell one item at a time is a step backwards.
