You can get rich with Alchemy? Good to know... Give me something to do with my metric s*** tonne of ingredients.

That said, i have 500k gold, and i've done things the old fassioned way. It doesn't really take that long to pick through gear, take the valuable stuff, and sell it off. It does take some effort in leveling first, because it relies mostly on leveled loot.

Steal everything, and I mean anything not bolted down. I steal buckets and things worth nothing and sell it to improve speechcraft. Improve speechcraft and you get better prices. Sell arrows one at a time, sell ingredients one at a time and so on. I have played through twice and never have I used potions for money until the very end of the game, just to get rid of them.

Basically, selling potions with multieffects, usually 2-4 in total can net you an insane amount of gold in a short time.

Stealing things, sure but until you get the perk for speech at 70 you can't sell it at all.

It could be an interesting challenge though, hmm, not going the alchemy route because believe me, you can instantly become rich with it. What is the sleeping tree camp?

Looting everything.

Enchanting everything.

Stealing stuff. About everybody got a ring or two on them, meaning lots of money.

Alchemy is just best, since after a while you get addicted to picking up flowers. Need to use them somehow

It's a Giant's camp with a tree surrounded by purple liquid somewhere between Rorikstead and Whiterun. The quest can be found in the adjoining cave. It can be pretty dangerous to get there though because of all the mammoths and giants. I tried the sneaky approach only to have a mammoth spawn on top of me while exiting the cave. Four mammoths then aggroed me along with a pair of giants. I was only level 23.

Just curious, but how does this make getting money easier? is there a power or perk involved?

I can't really say how the alchemy is the best (I mean fastest) way to get rich since I haven't met any merchant with more than 1100 gold, but it's for sure the best in the ratio of item weight and value. But personally I earned money in another way: I collected all the daggers i was finding in the loot, enchanted it with petty, lesser and common soulgems (also had plenty of them and since I used a bound sword they were always full). Thus I reached two goals - level-up enchanting and earn enough money to buy all the houses in the game I wanted.

You can also try crafting jewellery. It's also pretty easy to find components - gold ore can be transmuted from iron ore using transmute spell. And there are many gems in the loot or found as products of ore-mining. But this can get pretty boring if you don't have a lot of magicka.

Also a good way in the beginning of the way is to earn money chopping the firewood. I spent something like 20 real-life minutes chopping the wood to earn 3000 i was lacking to buy the first house in the game. This is also a pretty boring process, but you can have a cup of tea whilst doing so ;)

And a useful tip - since the prices are affected by speechcraft - don't forget to go get blessing of Zenithar (10% better prices) or Dibella (+15 speechcraft), also get a blessing if there's an altar near (for example, if you're in Solitude, there are altars of 8 divines) and find a local beggar and give him/her a coin) - Gift of charity - another +10 speechcraft temporarily. Of course, you don't need all these if you are selling porions worth something like 5k gold, since the merchants don't have sufficient funds anyway.
