Altering character traits at the beginning of the game.

Ok, so I've been playing Oblivion for about a month and a half now with one character. He's a good guy, Mage's Guild, Fighter's Guild, helping citizens in distress...all that good stuff.

But once I finish with him I'm going to be creating an anti-hero sort of personality and go through the Dark Brotherhood, Thieves Guild, and Shivering Isles quests with.

The thing is, when I get around to making my new character..I want him to be overpowered...and by overpowered I mean demi-god status. I'm going to be modeling him off of a race of beings from one of my favorite Fantasy series (I'm modeling him off of the Patryn's from The Death Gate Cycle).

So at the beginning of the game I want to boost the crap out of all his stats and give him a bunch of insanely good magic spells and such (not just to overpower everybody..I have a whole backstory in mind for the guy and I'll be role-playing it...sort of a..he has god-like powers but he has to conceal them from most folks sort of thing).

Anyways, I say all of that to ask, what is the simplest way to go about not only boosting my guys stats from the get-go...but also giving him a bunch of magic skills off the bat.

Thanks all. :thanks:

Simple method:

AFTER you have finished the tutorial (IE, out of the sewers), use cheats to bump up your skills to whatever you want. Don't do this before you leave the sewers, just to be safe. If you want to know the cheats, you'll have to google it because I don't know them.

For the special spells, adding them with the CS then using cheats to add them to the player would work fine. Making new spells in the CS is one of the easiest things to do, as long as you are using vanilla effects (fire damage, paralyze). If you want to add new custom effects, that would need scripting.

This is a good site for tutorials on the CS.

To increase your characters traits/skills.

after you leave the sewers:

Open the console: with the tilde ` key for all these commands

All spells:

type: psb - gives you all the vanilla spells.

To set your attributes:

type: modpca attribute # -- where in # is the amount you want your attribute to increase by and attribute

eg if you have 30 str and want 100 type: modpca strength 70

To change your skills:

Type: modpcs skill # --- where in # is the amount you want it to increase by.

eg if you have a 30 marksmanship and want 100 type: modpcs marksmanship 70.

If you need to, you can type TGM and you become invulnerable to damage this resets whenever you exit game or type tgm again to turn off.

Remember to close console with tilde key ` when done with commands.

This is a start, by no means all of the "cheats" in the game.

Cheats. Tons of em.

if you boost your Strength, your Sword/Ace/mace/club/bare Hand strikes will get stronger, also you'll be able to carry more Loot.

to get Spells, you may want to open the console and type "player.addspell spell id

for the best fireball, that would be 000A97E3.

player.addspell 000A97E3

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Spells here are all the Spell IDs.

Its generally a very good adress=)
