firestorm432
i checked the frequently asked questions, no help there, and i checked every worth while cheat site for commands i could find, and it appears the only way to find an additem id is searching threw the entire fred readme. i was just wondering, is there a way to get an item id in-game threw the console? i tried clicking on the object, but that didnt work. the id it gave me was the world id or somethng (im no expert) if anyone happens to know, please post a reply saying if there is or not, and if there is, how. BlackRampage
What's this "fred readme" you speak of? Anyway, the ID you gets shown when you select something via the console is the reference ID, or ref-id for short. It's a unique code for that specific instance off that object. What you want to get is the base-id. There's actually a very simple way to find it out in-game. Do you have FOSE? If so, all you need to do is open the console, select an object, then type "GBO" (short for: Give Base Object) in the console. That's all.
firestorm432
ok. thanks so much. btw the fred readme is the fallout readme you can access in game by typing "save fred 1" and it minimizes the game and displays a readme with all the ids, world, cell, npc and otherwise, from the game at the time you typed the command. its usefull if your a modder i suppose, but for me its just frustrating. but again, thanks for the help.
