ivoles2122
Hello! Look the problem that I have while I'm playing Fallout 4 is that I feel alone, with or without companion, so that's why I get bored, even though I really love this game. My request is: Is it possible that companions (e.g nick or curie, idk) could talk more, for example when you discover a new part of the city, they say smth, or you are walking and they say smth randomly, without requiring the user to directly enter the talk menu. If that is possible, I'll be really happy, 'cause I want to play this game but without betting bored so quickly. Thank you guys!
taryl80
It is possible. But it should be almost impossible for vanilla companions, because every new written sentence for a companion means also that the modder have to voice this new sentence and I don´t think the bethesda-vanilla-voice actors will do this^^. Your hope could be companions made by modders. I am sure, there will be enough companions come out (and are out) that are interesting for you. vault75
Hey there, welcome to the forum! Having already played through Fallout 4 about six times already (lol) I can safely say that the vanilla companions do have a wide range of dialogue, certain characters will only comment on things that may be relevant to them or, for example, if you return to Vault 111 most characters have something to say about the frozen corpses, I believe Nick actually expresses his concerns for you losing your partner. I know that also in Jamaica Plain, Piper makes a sarcastic comment about the treasure of Jamaica Plain. I guess it's just a case of spending more time with your companions, and developing their affinity. Each companion's "Idle" topic (the phrases they say when you ask their thoughts) should occasionally be spoken when walking around as well, if you listen carefully. I know that my companion mods do. It's not really possible for us modders to edit the vanilla companions so they say additional lines, but as someone who has trawled the creation kit extensively I can safely say there is a lot of dialogue in there - you just have to do the right things to trigger them! Hope this helps.vault75
vault75
If it helps any, my speciality is creating custom companions, and i've already released two (one of which is full affinity and quest) plus I'm working on two more to be released soon. So, if the vanilla companions aren't as interested as you'd like them to be, you can check mine out :-) Totally not a plug.

Deacon, for example, has a very flexible "not a fan" line with a natural dramatic pause. Also a good unenthusiastic "Yaaaaay." Deathclaws... Not a fan.The Brotherhood... Not a fan.Waking tanks... Not a fan.Synths... Not a fan.The Minutemen... Not a fan.Dying! Yaaaay.Ghouls. Yaaaay.Deathclaws. Isn't this fun?
