Reinstalling NMM over abroken NMM - is a modded game safe?

After trying to switch from f\Fallout 4 to Skyrim Special Edition, NMM won't start ("Unrecognized Game Mode" "....not set up to work with Fallout 4......rescan....."). But NMM won't start. So I want to try reinstalling, but am worried that I might lose my modded setup?

 

I can start Fallout 4 via the f4se_loader.
