New update for Fallout 4

Steam is telling me there's a new update for the game. Anyone knows if it's minor or major (hence requiring a new version of F4SE)?

Edit:

Ver 1.8 so I guess a new version of F4SE is needed.

Fallout 4 1.8 Update

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue in which some sound effects would not persist after reloading in an area
  • Resolved an occasional crash when exiting to the Main Menu, and trying to start a New Game
  • Fixed an issues with spaces in Mods search queries
  • Cannot rate “WIP” Work in Progress Mods, and Mods can now only be rated after they have been downloaded
  • Doubled the amount of browse-able tiles in the Mods menu
  • Fixed a rare crash that would occur when a Mod had an unexpected data structure
  • Fixed an issue in which Library and/or Favorite Mods categories would not display correctly in specific situations
  • Fixed an issue in which some Mods images would not load when scrolling quickly
  • A Sentry Bot firing dual Gatling Lasers will no longer cause the audio to cut out

Oh boy. Before I fire up Steam, what files should I move out of the folders to avoid the update overwriting them and undoing any of my changes? I messed with some ini settings, but most of it was to enable modding. I don't have F4SE, though. After this, I will have to keep a note of what I'm modifying for future reference.

Also will this affect the unofficial patch/invalidate it/make it incompatible/cause issues?

This is a beta update, is it not? I didn't receive an auto-update for it, and I had that enabled for Fallout 4.

Also I don't see an option to disable updates for this game. It is either always up to date, only when I launch the game, or include beta updates.

Right click on the game in Steam, choose properties from the drop down menu.

Click the 2nd tab from the left, "Updates", then choose "Only update this game when I launch it." This prevents the game auto updating when you start Steam, and you'll get a notification next to the game that there's an update available.

Caveat: as I use NMM to launch the game via F4SE, my game will never update without my permission as F4SE bypasses the launcher.

I'm not sure what would happen if you launch the game normally.

Another way of keeping from being ambushed by updates is to play off-line. Steam will still update every now and then but no game updates are forced on you. My game is locked just before the 1.5 wreaked havoc on everyones games. I miss out on some things. But on the other hand my game runs rock-solid.

Has anyone else experienced silent crashes when trying to launch the game since the update? Or, seen/heard reports of it happening.

It started happening to me immediately after the update and I can't seem to solve it for the life of me.
Not an F4SE user, and only run 30 odd plugins - none of which I'd think would cause this issue.
