Sword1of1Spirit
I'm using SkyUI. Maybe in the vanilla interface there is an easy to see place to click to break down something and learn how to make it, but I can't see anything like that. I see a list of stuff that can be made. Nowhere do I see any sort of "break down this light imperial helmet and learn how to make them" or whatever I should be seeing based on my understanding of that aspect of the mod. So what am I missing? Also, do the default settings really turn off XP gain from crafting items, or am I reading that wrong? I am using Requiem, if that makes a difference, but it is properly patched for compatibility.
redrakiton125
You can learn nordic smithing, forsworn smithing and a couple more can't remember them.So to learn to smith nordic weapons and armor all you have to do is go to a forge and have in the inventory a nordic item. When you use the forge you will see learn nordic smithing. Also when you ask questions about any interface or mod that uses an mcm, it would be good to post screenshots with your exact problems.
Sword1of1Spirit
Thanks. So the learning option is only going to appear involving certain rare types of armor and weapons, and the normal stuff can be crafted without it? I guess that should be obvious, but I'm new to Skyrim and there seems to be a paucity of consolidated manual-like information.
lofgren
Well the only place you would expect to find manual information on mods is on their mod page. Instead of quest requirements, a new method has been added by which you can learn to craft non-joinable faction gear. Currently this includes falmer, forsworn, and ancient nord. If you have the proper perks, then you will be able to take gear that you find to the forge and break it down to learn the construction techniques that were used to craft it. Once you've broken down enough pieces (generally 3-4 items) you will gain enough knowledge to be able to replicate those styles. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/49791/? loboram
What would be incredibly useful though, is a complete list of which items, the different mods allow, to break down/convert/smelt into materials, as well as the conversion rates.I have not found ANY such pages, or information included, in the mod-pages themselves. It usually only notes that; "items can be broken down into materials", which really isn't that useful. When compared to other mods, where the modders have clearly included the entire detailed lists, of everything that can be expected from their mods.
