baldingduck
I'm hoping someone can steer me to the cause of my problem... I haven't played Skyrim in years and now I have the capability to run ENB...so I thought I'd take a trip down memory lane...with some killer graphics...So my problem starts with what looks like a band of SMOG from ground to player character face. I can barely see through it. It alerts me to an error in my skyrimpref .ini file (bFloatPointRenderTarget=1 not detected) So I edit to give the proper value save and switch to read only, Then when I restart, I have no more fog, but instead I get animation issues and when I leave Skyrim and enter the cave cells... I get missing meshes, unable to draw weaps.; it's a quantum failure like totally random and intermittent. i get another error alert that seems to be calling out hardware and/or antialiasing? If I don''t get this running soon, I'll have to think about real world stuff, like President-elect Trump. twiztedmongoloid
Do some research. There is a TON of good information and guides out there on modding this game. Rather than expecting someone to spoon feed you on a forum...use google. Google is your friend. https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/wiki/troubleshooting_guide https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/wiki/beginners_guide http://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:ENB http://wiki.step-project.com/User:Neovalen/Skyrim_Revisited_-_Legendary_Edition Trump in office is far from an "issue"

phantompally76
Although a google search isn't really going to help in a situation like this, there is no simple or quick fix for those kind of issues, and it's impossible to know where to start when there's no indication as to the cause. Missing meshes (is it possible you actually mean missing textures) either means that mod files are not in the correct folder, or that you've gone beyond the vram threshold. NMM and MO don't always unpack files correctly, and manual installing can be problematic over time as well. Unable to draw weapons could be the result of serious input lag, and that may or may not have something to do with cpu usage. There's also the possibility that you may have changed the wrong skyrimprefs.ini file (there are two, in two completely different folders on all of our computers, and one of them doesn't do anything). If I were in your shoes (and I'm sure I have been in the past), I would simply uninstall and reinstall Skyrim. You might lose some mods that are no longer available, but any one of those mods could be the cause of your issues. That would probably be a lot quicker than trying to troubleshoot what sounds to me like a totally hosed install, and far less frustrating IMHO. You could try deactivating all mods first, IF you use NMM or MO. But again, if files unpacked in the wrong folder, they probably won't uninstall correctly either. It could also be an issue with the ENB itself, so you might try uninstalling that as well. But barring those, I would probably just uninstall and reinstall Skyrim, and make sure that the game runs properly without any mods or ENB or tweaks. If not, then that points to a hardware issue. Hope that helps.
baldingduck
I appreciate the response and it got me to thinking...all the mods I use are placed with a mod manager... I used to use wryeBash because of the sort of analysis it gives regarding the mods, their dependencies and their compatibilities... but this time around I went with nmm and also use TES5Edit and LOOT to make sure it's all happy So you mentioned things that aren't where they're supposed to be...and it clicked that for files to be in the wrong place... it had to be me not NMM...and it had to be something my tools would miss... a fairly short list... ENB as you pointed out is the only program besides SKSE that I loaded manually ...even though the load screen shows installation...it isn't necessarily correctly installed. That was certain to be the problem... but it is only part of it... After doing a verification, I was missing 1 file...I ran the local audit again and it said 1 file missing AGAIN.. So I'm thinking erase my backuo and reload from the Steam Cloud.... except I wasn't downloading a backup... curiouser and cuiouser.Thank you for your response Phantompally76PS the textures were what was visually missing you're right.....and since I didn't fall through the meshes must have been there...
