Snap furniture to walls...

If there is already a mod that will do this, please let me know because my OCD while building this vault is about to kill me.

I would like to have a mod that will automatically line snap furniture to the vault walls. For example, I'm trying to install beds in my room, but because it takes 20 minutes for me to line the bed up at a perfect 90-degree angle in each room, I usually grow frustrated and quit.

And it is not just the beds. There are all kinds of types of furniture that needs to be snapped to walls (couches, chairs, toilets, shelves) Is there a mod that already does this? Is it even possible to have such a mod?

Either use PE, or add the WorkshopGridSnap setting to your fallout4custom.ini. use google for more info

The workshopgridsnap function works ok but there are numerous situations where it doesn't work at all. I'm in the same boat as the OP. I'm incredibly particular about how things are placed in my settlement......to give you an idea, I'm at about 1000 hours play time with probably 850 hours of that building settlements. Having a function to snap furniture (beds, lockers, chairs, couches, etc) to walls would save a ton of time.

There is no other mods doing this. I tried, it just makes placing furniture a total mess and it's not worth the work. Until then those two will do more than fine.

and remember this engine is simply not made with minecraft capabilities in mind.

Not to rain on your parade m8, but definitely just use console commands.

1. Open Console.

2. Select bed or whatever once its close to how you want it

3. "Getangle z"

4. If angle comes back as like "90.5556", type in "Setangle z 90". If angle is "270.456", "Setangle z 270" etc. etc.

5. Congrats you now have perfectly right-angled furniture

Not raining on my parade, because this is what I'm looking for. Now, is there a console command that will allow me to set an object a certain distance away from another object? If there is, I have everything I'm looking for.

This thread describes using the modpos/getpos commands. Basically you want to getpos of the item you want to set your second one a specific distance to and then modpos your second item to the appropriate distance. I don't want to use Place Everywhere or F4SE until Bethesda slows down their updating schedule so I use modpos and other commands for a lot of stuff myself. https://www.reddit.com/r/fo4/comments/3t2ctn/psa_pc_players_console_positioning_commands_work/
