REPLACING SSE TEXTURES WITH VANILLA ONES

Yo guys, is there any possibility of replacing SSE textures with vanilla ones ? beacuse i downloaded SSE only to be able to use all of my 16gb ram, not for higher res textures, and i wonder now was someone made that already or that isnt possible at all, beacuse in vanilla, i had skyrim on 250 fps now its on 30.. like wtf, i want to use all of my ram but on vanilla textures, is there ANY chance ?

I think there is an 'Optimised Vanilla texture' pack for SkyrimSe on the SE nexus. I would recommend that. It resizes and compresses the existing SE textures, which is just as well as the SE default textures simply aren't proper high res textures. Just upscaled, sharpened garbage in my opinion.

 

Alternatively, you could simply look for better texture replacers on the nexus. You don't have to go for 4k or 2k, there are many decent texture replacers, landscape and the like, that feature 1k resolution.

 

Another solution, if you have Old Skyrim, is to download the Hi Res texture pack for free, unpack the bsa archives and copy and paste the textures you like. The Hi res texture pack isn't upscaled or sharpened as far as I know; so it should look better and cost less performance-wise.
