Orphan Rock Area CTD.

Since yesterday afternoon I've been getting a CTD as I try to go into Orphan Rock to obtain Nettlebane. It seems to be right around the area where the Hagraven and camped witches are. The road right in front, the Stormcloak camp, Helgen, Bandit camp to the North West, no problems. Just that small area where the Hagraven is. I have tried to disable some ESPs to see if the problem persists, but to no avail. Any Assistance would be greatly appreciated! :smile:

They are all from the SSE Nexus, and claim to be compatible with Skyrim SE. The only one that isn't, Apachii Hair, is widely claimed to be working fully with SSE. I will try a very early save, and spawn there, see if it works.

Edit: Went back to an earlier save, tried COC orphanrockexterior02, CTD. I will try a new game later on, see if that's an issue as well.

You gotta remove every mod from the skyrim data folder. You may have installed a mesh or a texture mod that changes something in that very specific cell that causes the ctd in the first place. Kinda sucks but you might have to reinstall skyrim completely. Install 1 mod at a time from that list order and test the game until you get the ctd to occur to determine the culprit. Even if they are deemed safe. Some mods will run in conflict with other mods and cause a ctd due to multiple factors like a broken level list in gear, bad meshes or dirty edits.

Just to reference this. Very soon after my last post, I did just this. Fixed the issue for me, and have had no problems since. I don't know what caused it to this day, but reinstalling the game, and only installing mods that I was 100% sure would work on SSE fixed my issue.
