BenSmart112
Hello. My idea is a conversion mod to transform Skyrim into a realistic zombie apocalypse experience. Allow me to elaborate:The current best zombie mod is 28 Dayz, but that merely doesn't satisfy the need for realism. Many NPCs are barely affected by attacks, there aren't many threats poised by them, and infection is pretty much tolerable. My idea is for Skyrim to be converted into an almost completely altered version. Here's a breakdown of my request: No More Main Quest or Essential NPCs:The main quest should be pre-finished or ignored in saves with this mod installed. The quests would still exist, just no longer be accessed during gameplay. Advanced Alternate Start:The player should randomly spawn in an abandoned building or something, with a random set of low level equipment and no weapons. The player should work to search for a weapon. Randomly Placed Loot:Weapons should be found in new structures/generation. Perhaps run-down carriages, abandoned buildings, and dead survivors placed beside trees or found dead in the road being eaten by a zombie could carry weapons somewhere. Fewer NPCs:Vanilla NPCs should only exist in safehaven settlements, and should be subjected to bites and infection. Most NPCs, especially in unwalled towns and cities, should be replaced with the living dead or hiding in houses. Random Survivor Encounters/New Survivor Followers:NPC survivors should be found in all sorts of places- Walking through roads, scavenging houses and cities, and perhaps wandering campsites. There should be a few kinds of NPCs- Cannibals, who will try to kill and eat the player and any other NPC other than a cannibal.Bandits, who will encounter the player on the roads or while scavenging and either attack the player immediately or try to get the player to give up their equipment. They should demand food, water if the iNeeds mod is installed, armor, ammunitions (bolts and arrows), and weapons if they try to negotiate with the player.Traders- These NPC survivors should offer the player to buy and sell goods for Septims but be prepared to either fight to defend themselves or flee.Survivors- These NPCs can be found scavenging and have a 1/18 chance to spawn with a random amount of 1-6 zombies around them. They should only attack the undead if they get too close, and have a random 1/5 chance of being hostile towards the player.Special new followers- Important survivors who you can have more than one of at once. These would be similar to a survivor group, and can be found variously all over the map, perhaps in need of help. If they are in need of rescue and you save them, they should unlock as a follower. Survivor Settlements:Vanilla NPCs should spawn in survivor settlements, such as guards, thugs, theives, murderers, and normal villagefolk from all around Skyrim. These should be some of the old towns, like Helgen or Riverwood, but with wooden walls put up and some of the houses in poor condition. Wells should be found in them, and the walls should be able to be broken down by massive undead hordes. There should be guards on the walls with bows to defend from the undead menace. Zombies:Undead should spawn commonly throughout the map, especially outside survivor settlements and within large cities, like the holds. Their bites should infect NPCs, and they should only be able to be killed by hitting them in the head. Hitting in the legs should cripple them, and hitting their arms with something sharp should amputate them. They should impale themselves on spiked barricades if they touch them, but if one zombie is on a spike, no more zombies can go on that spike. One zombie per spike. Impaled zombies should be pushed off and killed by NPCs if they're near a settlement and no other threat is around. Player Amputation:If bitten in an arm or leg, the player should have to either amputate the bite, use a cheat spell (see below), or if they choose not to, they should eventually die of infection. Amputations can only be successfully performed with a roll of paper and leather to close the wound and avoid bleeding out and a sharp melee weapon, like a knife or hatchet. Pickaxes won't work- Too much blood. If the player amputates a leg, walking should be more like hopping, and the player will be unsteady, have a bouncier first person movement, walk half as slow, and have a 1/13 chance to fall over every time they move. To get back up, they must press their jump button rapidly, with every press a 1/16 chance of standing back up. If an arm is amputated, they cannot use that arm. Amputations can only be fixed by prosthetic guantlets or boots/peglegs, unless cheat spells are used. Cheat Spells:All magic and shouts should be disabled, as should the magicka skill tree, but three spells: A spell to kill all undead in a medium radius around the player, a spell to heal amputations, and a spell to cure bites. Small Survivor Camps:Survivor camps should replace giant camps and also be found in abandoned buildings and ruins. Removing All Non-Player, NPC, Zombie, nor Animal Entities and turning spawn off:The mod should turn off the spawning of fantasy creatures, such as trolls, dragons, giants, and such. However, dogs, sabre cats, mammoths, and other such animals should remain about to increase realism. This should be toggled by an option in the configuration menu. Zombies Are Stupid:Zombies shouldn't know where you are unless you're out in the open, in front of one, in the same room as one, or make noise by running or knocking something over or use a ranged weapon or something. However, if they see anything that isn't a zombie move in front of it, they should attack it and eat it. Do you think this would be possible or taken up by someone? Maybe not with that attitude!Ha, just kidding and trying to be optimistic, but I know you're probably right.
henrynrwrheine
Your Idea sounds good, but how would you make that?Skyrim is a game with Quests and Adventures. If you will make a Zombie mod for that, are there Quests in there is it only pure Combat? ussrspace
OP should check the Steam Workshop for zombie apocalypse mods. I've tried a couple and they basically spawn draugr in the wilderness. It's quite a lot of draugr, mind you, groups of 15-20. So that's kind of like zombie apocalypse, without details like bites/infection or survivors. It makes exploring a tedious business, because you are swatting zombie after zombie after every turn.

They all pretty much suck or are just draugr, which are too smart and too human-like for their own good. It's nothing close to the zombies I'd like to see.
