FegelTemplar
So recently I changed my graphics card from GeForce GT230, to GeForce 9800GT. Said to be a gaming graphics card. And with a i7 processor, it rocks! Except it doesn't, at least not forever. When I launch the game I might as well go for ultra settings and it will run smoothly. Then overtime it will progressively slow down to the point I'm at 17-20ish FPS in areas with a lot of fog effects and particles. I'm trying to defrag now but something tells me it won't help much. Is it because I have a virus or something? Or is the graphics card just not as awesome as I thought it was?
Iv000
The 9800GT is quite old and slow, and it's definitely not made to play the game on ultra settings.Lower your settings, or get a new Graphics card.
Zaflis
Skyrim possibly has a memory leak when it comes to textures. To me it appears as textures eventually becoming solid color, like completely blue, or floors disappearing. If you use ultra high graphics you will consume the memory much faster, therefore killing the game faster than you normally would.
