I feel better about Skyrim now...

The best Call of Duty was Finest Hour. I loved the Russian sniping mission.

Call of Duty 2 and 3 were OK for me.

Call of Duty 4 completely blew me away.

If you think the campaign of World at War was good, try playing it with the music turned OFF. It gets boring fast.

Modern Warfare 2 wasn't very memorable and I didn't like Infinity Ward's declaration of "authenticity over realism" where you saw insane things like a Riot shield being a viable military weapon, AK-47 being unlocked for multiplayer at the very last rank, despite it being one of the most prolific guns in the world, and an ending that would make Halo 2 blush.

I actually liked Black Ops. It was like Treyarch gathered 'round and said "Alright, we know no one is going to take us seriously, so let's forget about pretending we are. Let's put as much insane, badass crap as can and hope for the best." After all, imagine telling your friends that in the first level you assassinated Fidel Castro (not really), and then at the end of level 2 you were riding a MOTORCYCLE TO FREEDOM. Black Ops is about as serious as a movie that makes fun of itself, and that's what makes it enjoyable.

Modern Warfare 3 was unbelievably watered down and easy. You could beat the game in less than 6.5 hours on Hardened. Major changes were few and far between. The game felt like a $60 map pack.
