d3licious0pium
This would be kind of awesome, IMO. It'd feel more realistic, like my character was truly traversing all this terrain, just without my personal guidance until it comes time to rough up some Forsworn. Plus you wouldn't miss out on so many dragons. Which leads me to think that a mod like this could also include a better scaled passage of time on fast travel... Hm, does the current time-scale mod effect fast travel? I can't remember seeing that in the description. If not, it should be implemented in a mod like the OP suggested. Sorry I can't offer any assistance other than my personal interest. I am not so creatively gifted. :( Edited December 26, 2011 by d3licious0pium
ILuvMsMarvel
I'm sure there's a better frame of reference, but basically you want the same kind of traveling that was in Dragon Age. You would start to travel to one of the cities and be interrupted part way by some sub story point or an event of some kind. Obviously that was part of the story line itself, where this would be a more random encounter thing based on some variable. Say you were fast traveling from Solitude to Riften, it could drop you out next to a bandit hangout, then once you clear them out you can continue traveling, then it might drop you out again where a dragon is flying above scaring the crap out of everyone on the ground. Kill dragon, finish fast travel to Riften.
Striklikl
Not being a modder myself, I wonder if there's a way to make a similar travel path to Dragon Age 1? You see your line traveling across the map, then BAM! Swords of super-long-loading time in the middle of the path!
