Werne
Well, I was bored so I decided to watch TV, and there is this movie, "The Mummy". I watched that movie a couple of times, but since I had nothing better to do I continued watching. And then came this scene where that girl Ivy is tied up on this altar with a dead mummy lying next to her and then Brendan Fraser comes in with a sword. As soon as I saw the sword I fired up Blender so I can make it. And then all of a sudden *POOF*, my brain froze and I forgot how the sword looks like :wallbash:. All I can remember is that the blade was shiny yellow, like gold, and that the handle looked like it was made out of ceramic. I tried to search the google but I found nothing :(. Ah, well, it seems that model will become one of my failed experiments. A damn shame, it was a beautiful sword.
Flintlockecole
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7Msd64sMn4 This might help. Edited December 27, 2011 by Flintlockecole
Werne
It helps, it has a great view of the blade's shape, still can't see the hanle too good but at least it's something, thanks. EDIT: You just earned a kudo, I manged to make the mesh, now I just need a texture.I can't wait to test it out in the arena . Flintlockecole
Damn that is nice looking. I'd love to see that blade finished up.
Vindekarr
Yes indeed, nice mesh Werne, and a rather good looking blade to boot.
Werne
Thanks guys, I've made a texture for it, it's not very good but it's the best I can do It still needs to be positioned and scaled and it also needs a collision box but that's easy to do. Heh, this is my first model I'm making for Oblivion, usually I work for FO3 so I'm kinda proud of this one . huntsman2310
If you want the texture on the Blade to look a bit nicer, just de-saturate it and give it a more burnished look, a earthy colour like brass.
RitualBlack
The texture should be fine. A nice normal map will do most of the work if you decide to put it in a game. Nice looking model by the way. If I am restless and decide to tinker around in blender I normally mess around with the physics. Last time I created a simple scene. It was just an anvil on grass with a soft body cloth with a significant sub division dropping onto the anvil. It took only around 4 and a half minutes to render the few second long animation  . It took around 40 min total (with distractions) to make the models, textures, set up the lighting and render it so its nothing spectacular, but I was without internet so I had to find something to do. The things one does while bored  .
