aampk
the idea is to have a horse funcioning in an identical manner to pack brahmin in fallout 3 for some caravan traders, but I'm stumped as to where to even start. not sure if such a thing is even possible in skyrim (though if it worked in fallout 3 it must work here). any help is appreciated, this is a core part of the mod I'm working on and important that I get it solved ASAP
NexusComa
I'm not to sure what you're asking here but, if it's to have a some type of trader and use the horse as the traders chest I see no reason to do it that way when you can just drop a chest under ground and use it as all the traders in Skyrim do ... the fact he has a horse makes no difference at all. I was inspired by this and want to bring it to skyrim but have no idea how to go about it the traders in question will be like the khajiit, walking around from settlement to settlement. to me it just makes sense for them to have all their merchandise travelling with them, fully lootable should you want to kill them off (they're kinda OP to balance this, and don't respawn so you can't farm them) in my head I guess it'd be making an NPC's inventory locked with a key, then setting that inventory as a merchant's chest? not too sure really
irswat
pretty sure horses already have containers.
lofgren
You can create a script that blocks activation of the horse and instead activates a remote container when the horse is activated. I can't make links without a major headache, so check out BlockActivation() and the OnActivate() functions on the wiki. One issue you may encounter if you make this remote container theerchant container as well is that Skyrim has a bug where if the player removes items from a merchant container it trains Speech skill even if the items were stolen rather than purchased. Although you might also consider that a valid method for training speechcraft.
NexusComa
I guess what I was trying to say is, you could get the same effect. Doing it the way all merchants in Skyrim do.
lofgren
It wouldn't be the same effect because he wants to be able to pick the lock on the horse and steal the loot.
