Shinjigami Posted November 23, 2016 Share Posted November 23, 2016 Hello everyone. i hoped i was capable of finding mods, that allow me to have prebuild settlement buildings, so that tuning up some settlements is far more easier. i found some things, yet not in the way i would want it. So i thought, if such a mod does not exist, lets make one....though i never moded before. My idea would be one gigantic prefabricated building, that similar to a skyscraper, does not need much space on the ground and makes all the living area up over several floors. First floor full with beds, second with food, third with generators and so on. Sure this would need several other mods to work perfectly. The reason i would such a thing is twofold. first: the buidling controlls and so on are not as great as i would have it, so it would be easier for me to build something like this in an editor or so. And second, even though the settlement thing can be neglegted, i still wanna give my settlements some protection, yet do not want to waste hours in building things. so one settlement, one prefab and all the needs are satisfied is my goal. any ideas how to start about? or better asked, can those prefabs be build using the geck in the first place? Ethreon Posted November 23, 2016 Share Posted November 23, 2016 1. make grenade (or other activator) that can be thrown at some random spot and then build around it a large structure with beds and all needed items, using some code you wrote.2. make smaller prefabs and then plop them down and put all the stuff inside.3. make one big prefab and marvel at how useless it is since furniture and other items must be separate to work. There is the problem, any settlement object placed with a script are placed without navmesh. At least that´s how it was some time before.
