So... I'm extremely, extremely frustrated

Long story, but for my first playthrough, I played through the game, and due to a mistake while backing up files, I lost my save-game. Had to restart. Wasn't too bad at the time, and my second playthrough made it to the end and went through the DLCs and stuff as they came out.

Then I struggled. I wanted to start a brand new game - with all the knowledge of the game and stuff now, and mods, I could make some decisions that would be more satisfying and stuff. It took me twelve times of starting and restarting, playing through the first part of the game over and over and over again because none of my playthroughs satisfied me. I was sick of playing the initial parts of the game, but I had to in order to get to the newer stuff I was excited for(and to ensure I had the character I wanted). I finally did that, and managed to reach a little far into act 3(after getting inside the Institute), but then, while backing up the save files(ironically enough) I lost them due to the copy replacing the original, and ctrl-z deleting the copy but not restoring the original.

Now, I was hoping someone could play through the game and get me a replacement save-file, but I don't see how I could make that work seeing as how I couldn't get it exactly as it was.

Are you playing on survival where the saves overwrite each other? Yeah that kinda drives me crazy too because you only have what, like 4 saves? :/

Either way though, the Fallout series is notorious for having pragmatic, moral neutral plot points so I'm sorry to say but none of your choices tend to be completely "satisfying". I would say Fallout 3 is the exception because for the most part in that game you do go around saving the day rather Mary Sue. The other games give you more balanced consequences for any choices.

I will say this though... you're not going to be satisfied with the end of FO4. Spoilers aside, it comes off as un-polished and without effort. My suggestion would be to enjoy the game for the journey and gameplay but not worry too much about the inevitable plot conclusion.
