Sirropoo
Looking for male/female voice artist whom could pass for the in-game player voice
Athanasa
Unpack the existing player voice lines and reuse them. Recycle them, cut them up, put them together... There are hours of dialogue in the game. You're almost guaranteed to be able to find an existing line that conveys what you want, even if the wording is not exact. Comiconomist
Here's a really good tool for navigating the in game dialogue: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/12132/?
Sirropoo
Yup and Yup ...leaves dialog very restrictive and terribly time consuming ...Ill just get a voice a declare the Player has a cold, but Ill keep lookinga bit longer, still a number of development hours before crunch time
Athanasa
Yup and Yup ...leaves dialog very restrictive and terribly time consuming ...Ill just get a voice a declare the Player has a cold Better quality to use existing files, and actually probably quicker. Using files you...Are not waiting on the timeframe of another person doing their recordingsDo not have to find both male and female voice actorsDon't get a jarring difference in voices You don't have to have the dialogue PERFECT, just pick something close. Generic stuff, like... "I'd like to ask some questions.""I'm sorry.""Do you have a moment?""Who are you?""Yes.""No.""Why?""I won't do that.""What's in it for me?""Could you give me some more information?" So, yes. It is TECHNICALLY restrictive, if you wanted to make the character recite poetry. But on the other hand, the audio is already processed and formatted correctly for the game. Bad voice acting and audio can destroy enjoyment of a game or a mod. ESPECIALLY if it's jarringly different from everything else. Athanasa
Or I can make a funny ...one scene where the Player comes across distorted noise coming from a vent ...Player: "You seem upset, whats wrong ?" Suddenly, the player character becomes a deadpan arsehole. "I'M BLEEDING TO DEATH!""How unfortunate."

Athanasa
You won't get two soundalikes for the player characters faster than you could repurpose existing dialogue. In fact, it's highly likely you will never get soundalikes. Attempting to do so anyway with jarringly different voices is just shoddy workmanship. If you're going to mod, do it properly. There's an awesome piece of kit on Nexus (can't check it right now, on phone) that lets you search within the character voice files by words and play the line there and then, helping you find audio faster without having to extract it.
