[WIP] Weapon Addition and Replacement Suite (WARS)

To the fires, I read that the biggest fire is more or less under control after so long a time? And it shall be raining soon? I hope the best for you.

 

To weapons, I thought more of an additional weapon destruction mechanic, simulating the weapon getting hit by bullets or melee weapons and be totally lost. Preferably with the destruction chances adjustable with an MCM menu. It really changes the way you play the game if your shiny supadupa hero-gun could possibly get destroyed.

 

Even more so for armor, for me it is more a one-fight-object of utility, being destroyed if you got a lot of damage. Makes gameplay more dangerous and diverse.

 

To the ammo use and lists, good to hear. I cannot deal with scripts but I have a lot of leveled lists and outfits changed, no problem to do it if I like to use a mod.

I'm not actually sure which is/was the biggest fire... just that a big part of the problem has been that there are a number of very large fires. That rain forecast to start tomorrow is sounding more and more promising though, so here's hoping.

 

I don't know if this is something that AmmoTweaks v2 does currently, but I imagine that it could be set up so that the player taking damage is an event that prompts durability damage to their currently equipped as well - should someone want that. It seems like the sort of thing you'd have to tune carefully for it to not be really annoying, though.

 

 

Long time(2 years?) since i read this post . Delighted to see this positive communication is still going on, man thats a lot of content to keep up with again !

Feels like it took way too long, but it turns out that Christmas/New Years is a busy time and also that wondering if you or your family are going to die in a bushfire is really distracting!

 

(Things have been better on the bushfire front. There was a lot of rain the other day - and I mean a lot - though unfortunately it seemed to fall everywhere but right where I am.)

Thanks. :) And that's a possibility because I can animate, obviously - though I don't know the specific workflow for animating chem-use/eating/whatever - but probably a low priority with all the other stuff that needs doing. It would also be in PEACE rather than WARS.

The melee attack animation on the Skorpion,and I think a couple other "handgun" type weapons you have,seems a little slow and anemic. It doesn't look like a blow with lethal intent behind it,just an admonishing bop. Still,the rest of the animations are schway.

The melee attack animation on the Skorpion,and I think a couple other "handgun" type weapons you have,seems a little slow and anemic. It doesn't look like a blow with lethal intent behind it,just an admonishing bop. Still,the rest of the animations are schway.

From memory the Skorpion melee animation has the same timing as vanilla pistol melee animations, but it's not one of the animations I revisited recently. Maybe I'll go back and have another look at it.

Hey man, was just wondering if I could run a request by you.

 

I play in third person almost exclusively, was wondering if you could throw the shotgun shell loaders on the right side so we can see them in 3rd Person, a lot of mods have em on the left for FPS gameplay so we don't get to see the cool red shells on the model.

 

It could be an upgrade on the bench where players could swap between left sided or right sided depending on the players preferred view.

Haha - and I play exclusively in first-person. Except for occasionally going into third-person to see what my character looks like, since graphics coders forgot how to do mirrors in games once the 90s were over, it seems. ;)

 

Anyway, I'm afraid the shell holder needs to be on the left because it would cover the ejection port if it were on the right. I guess if it was an Ithaca 37 or something it could go on either side, but not the Mossberg 500/590/etc.

It's been kind of scary here; the next few days in particular have the potential to be terrifying, what with the forecast heatwave and a big fire springing up out of nowhere and now getting awfully close. So, uh... not getting much done on the mods at the moment unfortunately; too busy trying to prepare things in case we do need to evacuate.

Do you already know, if it will be necessary to start a new game with PEACE and WARS or if it is possible to implement them into a running game?

With both mods you'll need to start a new game unless you want to see lots of weirdness (at best).
