What models do you plan on using for some of the weapons? There's bound to be a bunch of Beretta and 1911 models worth using after all. On the subject of pistols, what's your opinion on the Smith and Wesson 1006/1076 handguns, and the similar-looking Smith and Wesson 39-derived handguns manufactured before the M&P? If you're ever thinking of other 10mm Auto-chambered guns, it would be worth considering. Similarly, a 10mm Auto chambered variant of the MP5 exists, if you do end up making/finding HK weapon models.

Instead of a perk to effect recoil, you could try using the recoil compensating stocks (Object references) in vanilla as a reference, and modify the standard receiver (or whatever makes it 5mm) to mimc the effects.

 

I want both object mods and perks to affect recoil, so that won't work, I'm afraid.

My opinion is that I'll never have time to implement all the different weapons people are suggesting. :tongue:

 

For the M1911 and Beretta M9 though; I'm spoilt for choice when it comes to M1911 models/textures - e.g. on gamebanana. Not so much the M9, unfortunately. That is one I've always vaguely intended to do myself from scratch however (so much later on sometime), as I have some specific ideas on what I want to do with it.

In who's military service did you get your little butter bar, Lieutenant Albrecht? The 7.62x45 is a Czech cartridge used in several Czech and Russian military weapons, and is NOT a NATO round.

 

The 5mm cartridge is a rimfire cartridge that is pretty much extinct and it is 20 caliber.

Typo. Swapped the lengths round between 5.56x45 and 7.62x51. It was something silly like 2AM when I wrote all that anyway. There are a bunch of 5mm centerfire cartridges out there - not just the rimfire one - most of them pretty much dead or very small-time/niche like 5mm SMc, 5mm Craig and .204 ruger. However, in Fallout's fictional world 5mm is the US army's ammo of choice for ballistic weapons, and acts pretty much like real world 5.56mm in that it's small, high-velocity, comes with an AP tip by default and is more controllable in full-auto than larger calibers.

 

Nowhere, it was a dumb username I chose as a kid (didn't have the ego to call myself a general) and now I'm stuck with it.

Okay, finally - after a bit of a delay thanks to my recent time in hospital, here's some new Mini-14 related stuff:

- Mini-14 13

- Mini-14 14

- Mini-14 15

 

First are a couple of shots of the newly-added LPC Laser Sight. Mesh and textures (for the mounts too) are mine from scratch. It was inspired by its use in Beverly Hills Cop II.

 

I'm also starting to give some of the weapons in WARS tactical lights. Also seen in these shots is a SureFire G2 - mesh and textures by Yogensia, with some minor changes by me. (Also I made the mount.)

As a bit of trivia, "LPC" is Laser Products Corporation... which later became SureFire.

That's a really hard question to answer. It depends on what the weapons are, how many attachments/variants I want to do, what resources are available (if any), how much work each will take to implement, how long I'll want to work on WARS altogether, etc.

 

Some of the things I want to do with the M1911 and M9 may dictate what resource/s I use for them. For the M1911 I want it to be possible to use a certain combination of attachments that will result in it looking like this. (It's one of the reasons I made the LPC Laser Sight for the Mini-14; I plan to adapt it later.) Similarly, I want it to be possible to have a "basic" Beretta 92FS, through a Beretta 93R (with folding stock), right up to this ridiculous monstrosity. This possibility is actually one of the first things I thought of back when we were first seeing what the weapon modification system in FO4 was capable of.

 

Lots of 80s action movie references... I guess because in these cases they're still retro-futuristic, even if they're not from the 50s.

That Mini-14 keeps looking nicer and nicer. Something tells me it's gonna be a lot of fun to plink raiders with. Not even counting the extra guns, the replacers alone are outstanding. How much work do you feel you have to do with the replacers anyway? I haven't seen you talk about the Glock in a while so is that done? Either way you should be proud of yourself for doing such good work on this mod, it's all fabulous and exactly what FO4 has needed since day 1!

Might I recommend the 12.7mm pistol made by our new resident Hi Fi modder DeadPool2099 who's model seems like a prime candidate for big bore semiauto handguns be added to the level list like the .223 pistol?

Thanks. :smile: The Glock has been basically done for a while now, yeah - though I'll probably give it a tactical light, and maybe a light/laser combo too.

 

I'm in the middle of giving the AR-15 (and Mini-14) a proper 5.56mm suppressor - one of the suppressors suggested earlier in the thread. I'll probably give the AR-15 an A1 handguard option after that - since Tigg kindly sent me one for it.

 

The next replacer weapon is the USAS-12, which will take a bit of work. The resource I've got for it doesn't have proper normal, spec or gloss maps (and the diffuse - while nice - has highlights and shadows baked in), so I'll need to touch up the model a bit, make a new high-poly, and do new textures myself.

 

Also, sgtbarney was kind enough to send me his Tommy Gun models for use in WARS, so those will likely be replacing the vanilla Tommy Gun models/textures. I'll need to texture them of course, so I'm not sure when I'll get to it. I would like it to be in the first release, but we'll see.

I'm sticking mainly to real-world weapons, so for something in that vein I'd be more likely to go for a Desert Eagle.

Sounds like you only have a bit more work to do on the AR and Mini-14, and the USAS, but the rest of it sounds about complete, more or less. Other than the replacers, anything else for sure gonna be in the first version or are you not yet certain?
